@mhh02 @BobFromAccounts đ Sounds like youâre making a good choice for you. For me the car is quicker and more flexible. As mentioned, I do cycle or walk sometimes but only when there is no rush or I want the additional exercise.

@mhh02 @BobFromAccounts Still not a popular choice regardless of infrastructure. Around us we have good cycle lanes but I see very very few tricycle, electric or not

@mhh02 @BobFromAccounts Sounds nice for you, hopefully you enjoy it. I donât see many tricycles with trailers at the local supermarket

@OakPaul @PTinBXL @BobArmour14 @BobFromAccounts I am not suggesting how much a bike can take, just that generally a car can take more and more people. The majority use cars out of choice and saying âthey donât know alternativesâ is disingenuous & generally incorrect.

@PTinBXL @OakPaul @BobArmour14 @BobFromAccounts However the car can take the full shop and is generally quicker. I find the car is quicker almost every time compared with using my bike after locking/securing it outside the shop, etc. As I say, itâs a preference that the majority take so letâs stop knocking the majority

@BobFromAccounts @HModinraven @HateToHate @jonathanleach13 So with everything else being equal, cyclists being subsidised by car drivers through the added tax they pay. I hadnât thought of it that way before Bob, thanks for pointing it out. đ

@HateToHate @BobFromAccounts @jonathanleach13 Agreed, hopefully same number of showers but added clothing and toiletries. Water heating, probably minimal change if living with others and any savings offset by other costs

@HateToHate @BobFromAccounts @jonathanleach13 So cycle in tunnels, on expensive e-bikes with change of clothes & toiletries. Add the time for showering & changing and much of the âadvantageâ starts to disappear. On the flip side, healthier đ

@OakPaul @BobArmour14 @BobFromAccounts Agree but people choose what works for them and often cars are more convenient & quicker.

@HateToHate @BobFromAccounts @jonathanleach13 Lots of people choose to drive even when cycling options are there. It may be a physical constraint such as hills, or simply a preference. Convenience is a big factor and possibly the weather (not everyone likes to cycle in the rain or snow)

@EmilyLemk @BobFromAccounts Good, I either drive for the bigger shopping trips or walk for the âoh I just need aâŚâ trip to the expensive local shop. I could walk/cycle the mile into town then back up the hill, but the car is quicker & more flexible.

@BobArmour14 @BobFromAccounts Proves my point, lots of people choosing to drive to the shops. Some may say âtake a cargo bikeâ or similar, but people choose what works best for their needs at that time.

@Keir_Starmer Makes a change, for the last 4 years you have blocked every proposal presented and thus helped create the mess we have today. Get out of the way and start mass deportations direct from the beaches, direct from asylum centres. If youâre serious, do it today

@BobFromAccounts @jonathanleach13 Remember Bob, you currently have a choice of walking, cycling, bus, possibly tube/train or drive (taxi or own car). Itâs your choice which one you want to use in the same way as others choose their preference. Clearly a lot of people prefer car travel when they have the option

@BobFromAccounts @jonathanleach13 People donât have to rely on cars, they choose to use their cars. You are free to choose to use a bike, no problem, but donât complain when the majority choose differently. Itâs your choice. Good job we agree on free choice (within the law)

@jonathanleach13 @BobFromAccounts Excellent, good for you. For us itâs about 50:50 to get there between car & bike including locking up bike, etc. The return is a steep long hill making the bike much slower. So one size / solution doesnât fit all.

@DaveF63 @BobFromAccounts @CS3Count Correct, the cars stopped at the pedestrian crossing as is the law. You may be confused as many cyclists forget this simple requirement and cycle through.
