Leads British in Portugal. Awarded MBE in 2024. Portugal's British in Europe rep. Views my own, RT's don't mean endorsement, most important, a Christian.
There are 364 Tory MPs in parliament.
30 are willing to rebel.
That means 334 Tory MPs are willing to break the law.
That says all you need to know about the UK government.
Tomorrow I take my last flight as a UK national and EU citizen. Come 31 January 2020, the UK will have left the EU.
I cried, more tears to come at the airport. I have never seen anything so devastating that a country has done to itself.
One of the saddest moments of my life.
"Smashing the remainer enemy" I. Am. Stunned. Who DO you think we are??? We are British people with families, friends, homes and suddenly we are the enemy??? We are people who differ in what is best for the UK and I suggest you are very careful because 'the enemy' WILL bite back.
If two people *allegedly* had their phones wiped to *allegedly* remove all evidence of the conversations taken place so as that evidence couldn't *allegedly* be produced to a court, wouldn't that *allegedly* be conspiracy to pervert the course of justice?
Ursula von der Leyen stated the EU are united regarding the UK's actions and Brexit.
The USA have served a demarche.
@BorisJohnson
has placed the UK in the deeply troubling position of upsetting not only its closest allies but trading partners.
The UK is in trouble.
I had some nice new neighbours move in about 4 months ago. I've helped them out, as you do, as they find their way around.
I thought, let's have them round for dinner but haven't quite got round to it?
I found out today she is a Michelin star chef.
That ain't happening then.
Why can't Hugo Keith KC ask the one simple question we all want to know the answer to?
'Did you delete your WhatsApp messages, yes or no?'
If no and proven otherwise Sunak is got on perjury. If yes, some way of tampering with evidence maybe?
It really is one simple question.
I live in Portugal. I am not rebounding from lies, lack of information, fudged death toll figures or ill-formed ideas as to the contingency plans.
Every day we know how many cases, where and the death toll in each area. We have testing stations.
Still think the UK is doing ok?
Guys, serious question.
The government are ramming down our throats that immigration is a huge issue the British public are screaming they want dealt with.
Is that true?
My only issue with immigration is I want a safe application route to be provided for them. End of.
It was never rocket science was it?
I remember when this came out and my jaw dropped.
Encouraging people to meet and eat together in a pandemic.
Just mindblowingly stupid.
Two things I would like to see next Tuesday in the HoC:
1. Every single MP who disagrees with proroguing Parliament sitting on the oppositions side of the chamber.
2. Complete silence in the chamber as the government are stared down.
@DavidLammy
@Anna_Soubry
Portugal's opened its borders.
On Monday I went out for dinner and a young British woman in the loo was wearing no mask.
I told her she needed to wear one inside which was met with a sneer. On letting her know she would get arrested the smile went.
It's always the Brits.
DO NOT sign up for this it is an underhand, typically Tory trick, to get you on the Tory mailing list.
@RishiSunak
*again* being community noted for being an underhanded, devious, liar.
Sunak's says he's going to bypass the courts, the Commons, the House of Lords.
Whether he can or can't is irrelevant, that he thinks he can, wants to try, means people should be very scared indeed.
How far's he willing to go?
They're losing.
What else will he try to outlaw?
The Portuguese STAYAWAY Covid Test and Trace app was developed by the independent Portuguese non-profit INESC TEC. It cost €0.4M to develop and works properly.
The UK app cost £12 billion and doesn't.
Still think the UK government are doing a good job?
Priti Patel appeared to be getting rather narky when questioned about the lack of PPE today.
She didn't like it at all.
My advice?
Get used to it lovey, it ain't gonna stop anytime soon whilst your cabinets inactions and failures are causing NHS staff to die.
How dare you
@Telegraph
!
You advocated this impending demise of UK manufacturing together with the UK economy and now, shock horror, 'alarm bells ringing'????
Don't you dare start with the faux shock and 'what a surprise'. You knew. We knew.
We. Told. You.

Here's a thing.
I live in Portugal and guess what? We have the pandemic too.
Do you know what we don't have?
Empty shelves.
Anywhere.
Amazing what a pandemic *AND* Brexit can do isn't it?
We have a House of Commons full of MPs many jeering, shouting and the pièce de résistance?
Laughing. Many are laughing and sniggering their way though one of the most serious decisions they have had to make in decades regarding the UK's future.
My disgust knows no bounds.
Can someone explain something to me please?
The government are bringing in a new phone system to enable people to get through to be able to book a doctor's appointment.
*How* does that provide more appointments with doctors that don't exist? 🤔
When the UK joined the EU as it was then in 1973, did the naysayers shut up? No. So much so we are now leaving.
So can someone tell me why the heck 'suddenly' I am being told to kiss and make up and forget this is contrary to everything I stand for?
Never. Going. To. Happen.
@june_mummery
You voted for this, you KNEW what you voted for, remember?????
Don't you DARE moan about every consequence, every known repercussion of your actions!
Don't you dare!
PS The dole queue is on your left :)
Due to Brexit, 10,000's of UK nationals living in the EU had their bank accounts closed, credit cards removed with demands for immediate payment of the full amounts outstanding.
And Farage has the audacity to whinge about his bank account being closed.
How dare he.
I'm getting incredibly fed up of this Prime Minister telling interviewer after interviewer that he is doing what the British people want.
He certainly isn't doing what I want.
I think I can honestly say this is a prime example of distorted, biased reporting. The portrayal of remainers is disgraceful and untrue. Those photos....Oh. My. Goodness.
Whilst the UK wants to have a good trade relationship with the EU as a sovereign state, the EU has different ideas. They want our money and they want to stop us being a competitor. The Withdrawal Agreement (WA) we signed last year sadly helps them. (1/3)
This 👇was just over 14 months ago.
56 MPs under investigation for sexual harassment.
56 out of 650.
1 in 7
You walk in a room of 14 MPs and 2 are being investigated.
And those are the ones we know about.
So what do you now see when you watch PMQs?
Did anyone else find it absolutely cringeworthy that Johnson made the Cabinet chant Tory party rhetoric when he asked them to en masse?
It was childish and immature.
What was worse?
They did it.
Brexiteers do realise that Dominic Cummings is an unelected bureaucrat don't they?
I thought that was one of the things they didn't like.
Just sayin'....
Living in Portugal, where the Covid restrictions/instructions/lockdown were very clear from the start, we all watched on in horror at the UK.
It was stupefying as the death toll spiralled out of control.
A handful of men are responsible and must be held to account.
Two questions for those advocating for Brexit:
1. If Brexit occurs, please give the economic model to be used in the UK that equals or is superior to the EU model already in place.
2. Please name any company/institution that has moved to the UK because of Brexit.
People are saying Boris Johnson should resign.
My understanding is Jacob Rees Mogg was entirely complicit and knowingly delivered the message to Her Majesty.
I don't think I need to say anything further do I?
I can honestly say this is the first time I have ever been scared of a potential general election result. It makes my stomach churn.
I was one of the most apolitical people you could meet pre-Brexit. I've gone from that to knowing I will be up all night waiting for the result.
So No 10 has said that each person, in each household with this current deal will be £2000 a year worse off. So a family of four £8,000 p.a.
That's, of course, if you still have your job...because tens of thousands won't.
Why would *any* government want to do this?
I had lunch with friends on Friday: a lawyer, an opera singer and a counsellor (eclectic me).
"So?" I hear you say.
They were Swiss, French, Portuguese and me? I was the Brit.
Without the EU, I would never have met them. I cannot tell you how awful that thought is.
I❤️EU.
You see, Brexiteers only regret their leave vote *when* it directly affects them.
If it hadn't, then they would have had no regrets for the catastrophic damage and harm it has caused to millions.
Get back in the bin mate, I don't care.
The Health Secretary,
@MattHancock
, doesn't know that pharmacists and nurses already give vaccinations and he's going to 'change the law' to allow them to do it.
There is nothing else left to be said about the incompetence and idiocy of this UK government.
Just nothing.
This is your Health Secretary claiming he’s changing the law to allow nurses and pharmacists to administer flu jabs
But the truth is both roles have been doing exactly that for years and years
Please RT if you think he should’ve known that already
"The Bank of England announced that voting to leave the European Union has cost Britain more than £440 million a week in lost growth since the referendum, thats £727 per second."
Tonight I did an exam, nothing unusual in that I hear.
The exam, if I pass, fulfils the language requirement for Portuguese citizenship.
Done because I am so damned mad at losing my EU passport. A year's very hard work all because of Brexit.
Mad? Doesn't even touch it.
The EU is being 'too tough'.
I have no understanding of this, none.
Someone is being too tough when negotiating a trade deal to their best advantage?
The UK government sound like whinging little kids having a tantrum worthy of a two year old.
ITV news saying the UK is in severe economic decline when comparing it to other countries.
I have friend after friend in the UK telling me how much they are now struggling together with how frightened they are.
When oh when is it going to sink in Brexit has to be reversed?
Tom Bradbury, "Picture a country going backwards, where workers haven't had a decent pay rise in 15 years, public services are on the verge of collapse, and the gap between rich and poor grows year on year"
"That is how Britain was described today in a bleak and damming
I've just seen an interview with a guy, still 'on holiday', as a Thomas Cook customer. In the country he is in he says he feels 'abandoned' by the UK.
Welcome to my world. Welcome to the world of the 1.2 million UK in the EU. He is on holiday, we live it every single day.
Do you know what really puzzles me?
Is why the Tories are persisting with this doubling down on far right policies as they drop like a stone in the polls.
If it's a strategy I am struggling to see the end game.
Remainers told to forgive and forget, move on, help Brexit be a success.
How? That's like saying you just broke a Ming vase and you want help replacing it with one from the pound shop because it's just as good if not better.
No.
You own your mistakes.
Don't make them mine.
I've just been told to wash my mouth out and called a disgrace to women?
Why?
Because I said Boris Johnson told lies which I could list if they so wished?
Now where's that soap? 🤔
When I see the
@Conservatives
saying they are going to do this and that if re-elected all that comes to mind is this:
After nine years why haven't you already done it then?
Let me get this straight.
Voted for leave to make the UK a better place but promptly legged it to the EU whilst it was easier to do so to have a superior quality of life than he would now get in the UK.
How many examples of hypocrisy in one 67 second video clip does one need?
I have had my pension moved from 60 to 67. All my finances, just like these women was directed to when I was 60. I am now 7 years short.
I wonder who I will vote for....
I've just found out I've been granted Portuguese citizenship. It'll take awhile for the paperwork to be completed, I can wait.
A Brexit benefit at last, I'd never have done it otherwise.
An MBE and dual nationality in the same year. I can cope with that 😊
This is just utter tosh isn't it?
How are British businesses going to trade with the EU if they don't accept EU rules and regulations?
Or is this just posturing so when it all crashes and burns (how can it not?) he blames the EU?
Give. Me. Strength.
On Monday, at the briefing,
@BorisJohnson
allegedly said, "I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask first-time voters to produce some evidence of identity."
Now look who first time voters vote for 👇
All clear now?
Awhile ago now, I changed my phone, it died bless it.
I was so worried with all these governmental WhatsApp messages going missing mine would too.
So, with trepidation, WhatsApp was downloaded et voila! There were all my messages.
Funny that...
Here's the thing Brexiteers, you chose to leave the EU and now are asking me to help sort out trying to make it work?
Yet you weren't willing to work on the 'problems' being in the EU to make it work so why should I help you with Brexit?
Hypocrisy?
You chose it, you own it.
So at the start of a general election campaign, the PM and his chief adviser have both been referred to the CPS for breaking the law on elections
Hard to imagine a more serious matter for our democracy
This is what happens
@JohnnyMercerUK
when you put someone on the panel who is far more knowledgeable than you about the current state of the UK.
Amazing how different Mercer is when faced with a man.
No showing off, no railroading refusing to shut up.
Says it all.
Johnny Mercer, "Extraordinary progress on climate change has been made under this Conservative government"
George Monbiot, "No, extraordinary progress has not been made under this government. It has deliberately trashed some of the progress even that was made under Boris
On the traffic island outside my local airport are statues and someone did this.
The imagination of some people is just brilliant and it so made me laugh.
You see, I am an Open Water diver too, Johnson saying on his first dive, he went to a depth nearly double the meterage you are allowed on your first dive.
My first dive, on the Great Barrier Reef, was to 18 meters.
Johnson? Couldn't dive for a rubber duck in his own bath.
@jayrayner1
He’s lying. Unlikely I know but I’ve dived all over the world including at Sharm El Sheikh where I leaned to dive. The Max depth allowed during Open Water qualification is 18m.
When cartoonists are able to do this without naming anyone and we know they are talking about Tory MPs, isn't it horrific that this is how low the people governing the country are.
To everyone who wanted an update on my new neighbours I was going to invite over for dinner and then found out she was a Michelin star chef? 😳
I found out what they like, can do an old favourite of mine and they should be coming in about three weeks.
Getting the valium in...
Moody's, doing their homework, have decided the UK is no longer a safe, financial place because of Brexit.
Of absolutely no surprise to those of us who have even the slightest interest in the UK economy and how it works.
What a shame it can't be said of the
@Conservatives
Pray, do tell.
Why would any part of the farming industry or any UK industry need money to prop it up when Brexit is such a good thing for the UK economy?
Answers on the back of a stamp please. Or is that still too big?
I think we can safely say the only thing Kuenssberg was good at in her role as BBC Political Editor was regurgitating every lie the Tories told her to tell.
Her blatant bias made her very poor at her job indeed.
A very experienced journalist said that Kuenssberg was “not rated” by her colleagues, and had built her role around just repeating “whatever Dominic Cummings told her”
Laura’s Time as BBC Political Editor has been a catastrophic, systemic failure
🚨 | BREAKING: The Met Police has issued 24 fixed penalty notices to Tory party staff over partygate
Total fines now stand at 150 - including 1 for Rishi Sunak
Here's the video showing Tory aides laughing and dancing at breaking the rules

German TV 2.2 million
Bbc propaganda "tens of thousands"

When a UK government has a majority of 80, they do whatever they like.
Never has it been clearer that this government is acting more like a dictatorship every day knowing there isn't one damned thing we can do about it.
Scared? You damn well should be.
Today, one of my oldest friends, a Tory loving, Boris supporter who thinks he has done a marvellous job in both Brexit and the pandemic said:
"I don't believe everything they are saying anymore..."
Keep at it people, I tell you, if she has turned *anyone* will.
What isn't being broadcast by the UK g'ment:
EU citizens will be stopped from freely travelling and living in the UK - one country.
UK citizens, 66 million, will be stopped from freely travelling and living in TWENTY-SEVEN countries.
Looking after your interests? Really?
You know, when I change my phone, download WhatsApp, put my SIM card in, texts, and all the historial stuff, just like magic, appears.
And yet, for Tories, Lord Bethell et al, that skill somehow seems to allude them.
How odd 🤔
I've just watched on Sky News, it actually being said the banks are worried the govt will renege on their promises to assist with the financial arrangements agreed, leaving the banks with debts they can't possibly cover.
This. Is. Our. Government.
They are out of control.
'...voters repelled by the worst government in living memory.'
I have never seen anything like this government and I never want to see anything like it again.
A disgrace does not even start to cover it.
I think this election is starting to get very interesting indeed.
When a UK populace decide to be activists things are seriously wrong.
You go students, we can do it with your help!
@Channel4News
They just don't get that they are withdrawing freedom of movement of EU citizens to the UK, one country, whilst denying 66 million of their own citizens freedom of movement to at least 27.
Give. Me. Strength. So cross now....
1.2 million British citizens. Let that sink in for one moment, 1.2 million of your very own being left to drown, abandoned by the British G'ment. We have known about this for a very, very long time, they did nothing and now it's on its way.
I'm struggling to understand the Tories latest drive for votes.
They retained Uxbridge by just 495 votes.
It's countrywide the distaste towards Tories but they took that to mean anti-climate change measures are the key to re-election.
They couldn't be more wrong.
@BorisJohnson
Those danged FOREIGN nurses saved your life.
One from the EU and one from NZ. How dare they!
Foreigners, whose lives have been made more difficult to continue living in the UK, have to PAY to use the NHS AND denied a pay rise by you.
You've got a nerve Johnson, you really do.
‘If somebody asks you (to fill in a form) you tell them to ring up the Prime Minister & I will direct them to throw that form in the bin’
@BorisJohnson
Why is this barefaced lie not being shown on every UK news channel?!
