Today, a memorial service was held at West Thurrock Memorial Ground, to remember the 39 Vietnamese people whose bodies were found in Thurrock 3 years ago. A memorial was unveiled at the event, along with 39 trees that have been planted to stand tall in the memorial ground.

We were alerted to an illegal traveller incursion at Dilkes Park at 9.30am, by 10am the council had given those at the site a direction to leave and by 11.30am all had cleared from the site - within 2 hours of intial notification

Thurrock Council Environmental Enforcement officers acted quickly to prevent an unauthorised encampment being set up outside the Scout HQ in Tamarisk Road, South Ockendon, this afternoon. After speaking with officers the group decided to move on. The site was cleared by 6:30pm

Our waste vehicles need room to get through to collect waste – if a car, van or lorry is blocking the road waste crews simply can’t get through to collect bins.

Overnight works on the Five Bells exit slip going eastbound off the A13 meant that extensive damage caused by a bus fire was fixed in time for the road to re-open this morning.
Teams cleared debris yesterday and worked throughout the night to resurface the road.
