Heartbreaking. Ungodly. Unacceptable.

I've never canceled a service for weather, but to suggest those that have are a reason the US is far from God strikes me as uncharitable and uninformed regarding every church's situation. The men I know who've chosen to cancel have hearts of godly pastoral concern, not carnality.
Numerous churches closed tonight ... cold weather ... there's no Bar closings ... It's a sad commentary when bars are open, football games are played in freezing temps ...& church prayer mtgs are closed. Any wonder why America is headed in the direction it is?!

To define legalism as "adding works to salvation" is correct, but not complete. Legalism can infiltrate the doctrine of justification AND sanctification.
Paul made that clear in Galatians:
“Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”

In 22+ years of ministry, I've learned that all that glitters isn't gold. Men and ministries aren't always what they seem, and their acceptance and applause is often conditional.
That's ok. True joy and fulfillment is found in quietly serving Jesus right where he has placed you.
