I really love how this site cycles through the "adult Disney fans are cringe" thing every few months like there aren't grown adults paying hundreds of dollars for a football game just to stand outside shirtless in 32 degree weather for hours with their whole chests painted
Disney has spent YEARS marketing themselves as the place to go if you have disabilities because they’re so accommodating. From food allergies onward. They’ve set themselves up as the “everyone can come here and feel included and get to participate” park.
Everyone wants to talk about people abusing DAS but I’ve not seen a single person talk about the new process for what happens if you’re denied.
You have to go up to every single ride and ask that CM what the process is for returning to the line when you have to leave.
Okay, I’ve been keeping this one a secret for a while. Surprised my parents with my sister joining us for our first family vacation to WDW since 2004! We got them!! So excited to start this trip
@WDWGuestService
Disney adult discourse always makes me laugh because sports fans are equally as cringy but that’s just accepted as normal. I say this as a sports fan 😂
To now be about the least accessible major theme park is a really wild change that’s clearly giving me whiplash. It’s just wild decision-making all around and I can’t imagine the optics of this are good? I have to think more updates to the system will be coming because of this…
I’m going to name my firstborn son Casey and when he asks me how he got his name I’ll tell him “son, you were named after the best corn dog nuggets in the world.”
@defnotadino
99% of what they’re doing is straight up abuse. This part was also so wild. Imagine being a kid and every year the Future Police come to your house to steal your toys
Hey friends, if you’re going to Disney, please remember to take note of all the wonderful CMs you meet so you can head over to Guest Relations or hop on Twitter to give them Cast Compliments. They work very hard and deserve to be thanked for it!
The real question is why hasn’t Ben & Jerry’s released the Avengers-themed ice cream mentioned in Infinity War?
I want Hunka Hulka Burning Fudge and Stark Raving Hazelnuts and Raspberry Thorbet and every other pun flavor possible
Who posts a picture of a 16 year old with the kid’s phone number to a group of 400k+ people?! I’m floored at the lack of common sense from this parent oh my god
I always get a chuckle out of people waxing poetic over how FastPass+ was such a great system like people weren’t complaining constantly over how much they hated it & couldn’t get the rides they wanted
First, this is a problem because it forces CMs to bear the brunt of guest frustration. They’re going to be dealing with a lot of hostility that, frankly, shouldn’t be directed at them. Implementing this new policy with (it seems) little training is an unfair burden for them
And also, this is no hate on sports fans. Just that adults regularly do things that other adults think are dumb. Who cares? If disney or sports isn't your thing, then go find your thing and enjoy that! Whether that's collecting something, designer bags, books, enjoy things!
Now, anyone can go up to a CM and say they can’t stand in line, got denied for DAS, and need a return time. You want to complain about abuse or guests clogging the LL line? What do you think is going to happen now with this system? It’ll be worse.
Literally nothing about that cheer video is okay. That should never be performed full stop. And Disney never should have allowed it to be performed on property.
All these people saying “I’m not going to Disney if I have to wear a mask! I’m not paying for a crappy experience!” Like okay....don’t. No one’s forcing you to vacation at a Disney park, just don’t go or wait until things are operating like before. It’s not that hard. 🤷♀️
If I had a dollar for every Facebook post I saw today of someone freaking out because they got a Guardians preview but didn’t have an Epcot park pass, my preview trip would be paid in full.
My favorite so far
Kid (about 5), wailing: You forgot my brother! You left him!
Dad: You need to knock that off *right now* because these people do not know you don’t have a brother
These people who are moving to Disney for a year…are they eating takeout for a year? Do they have a plan for cooking in hotel rooms? Why is this my biggest question?
@parksandrecnbc
He only uses a coaster if it’s a respectable piece of American craftsmanship. Because there’s no use protecting furniture that’s already valueless.
But the biggest issue, is that many CMs are giving guests a time to return to the ride when they can go through the LL to ride. This is essentially the old DAS system. Except before, you had to be approved in order to access this process
@hecallsmePP
I didn’t realize I was holding my breath watching that until after it ended. Scary moment for all involved. That poor horse! Was probably so freaked out and had no clue what was happening. Merida did a great job keeping calm & the CMs were great too.
How has the message somehow become “if you don’t like other people breaking the rules, then don’t go to Disney!” instead of “Don’t go to Disney if you can’t follow the rules”
@JennyENicholson
I completely agree. To add to this though, I know some people use those qualifiers because if they don’t, people will accuse them of being “fake” for having that empathy towards someone they didn’t know of
Here’s the thing. A quarantine doesn’t bother me, I can stay home for days on end before I get restless (yay introvert!) but the constant fear and unknown is what’s really draining me & stressing me out
Armchair Imagineering: Disney announces the next park they’ll be revamping is Hollywood Studios. What do you want them to add and what do you want them to absolutely not touch?
I need a wilderness lodge vacation. Not even disney, not even going into the parks. Just hanging out in the serenity of wilderness lodge and taking everything in
Every single Cast Member I encountered during my trip was nothing short of extraordinary. They were all so nice and wonderful and I can only conclude that the people complaining about them all being jerks are getting a taste of the attitude they’re giving CMs
Look. I don’t think I’m “owed” anything because of my disability. There are SO many things I don’t do because I can’t—or pay a premium so I can do—and it’s something that impacts every single second of every single day.
Last weekend I went to a bridal shower and one of the games was matching the Disney love song with the movie it was from. About time I can put this knowledge to good use!
I want to know who the Disney bigwig is who makes big money and who thought that having every single person with a reservation for the next 6+ months logging in at the same time was a good idea instead of doing something sensible like the 60 day FP+ reservations.
Here’s a first look at how "Harmonious" is coming together, as teams from Disney Live Entertainment and Walt Disney Imagineering continue working to get this stunning spectacle ready for opening night at EPCOT:
Do people....do people not realize that Hamilton is not and is not intended to be historically accurate? I’ve seen a lot of people complaining that it’s not accurate and it’s like yeah, duh, it’s a musical. Watch it for entertainment, then go read about what really happened
I absolutely love sports (and disney, and reading, and music, and...) and I love seeing people enthusiastically involved in something they love. If something makes you happy and isn't hurting anyone else, go for it! Enjoy things!
Is it really worth fixing the Yeti? You’re going so fast that it’s not really worth the downtime of fixing it...you don’t really get to see it you know?
Imagine being an adult in today’s world where there are so many real problems and yet you get so hung up on a Starbucks being closed that you can’t move on from it nearly 2 months later. Imagine needing attention this desperately.
