During this photo shoot, I was asked by my manager why I was hiding?!? I thought to myself ‘Why is she asking me this?!? “Happy New Year! I know I am a few days late! Wow! 2024 was an incredible year!!! I have been in deep reflection this holiday season and I’m filled with so much gratitude about the mountaintop moments, as well as the valley moments last year. There were teachable moments in both. One of my personal highlights last year was returning to South Africa for one of the most amazing trips of my life! From sleeping in Nelson Mandela’s bedroom at @sanctuarymandela to meeting one of the most incredible women who has ever lived on the planet, Mrs. Sophia Williams DeBruyn! We were honored to present her with The Sister Accord®️ Leadership Award. She worked alongside Nelson Mandela to fight for the rights of people in the country and led a March in 1956 with 4 other women to protest the pass laws in the country. It took so much courage to use her voice for others! Something really special happened when she hugged me. She said ‘I have never felt the kind of love that you have shown me today in my entire life!” She continued “I don’t want to let you go!” WOW!!! I was filled with so much JOY! This was what my mother prayed for as she would petition God on my behalf! I want people to feel the deep and profound LOVE that I have for them through the work of The Sister Accord®️!
