@CardioOncology @UCSFCardiology @UCSFHeartHealth @UCSFHospitals applications can be overwhelming, but the candidates have spent a lot of time on their ERAS apps, including thoughtful personal statements, meaningful experience descriptions, and some signaling. I don't see how a tweet would add to the ability to review...

@FPHudsonMD @BradSpellberg @PaulSaxMD @PrathitKulkarni Would be careful applying those single dose results in US - the mortality in those studies was many fold greater than is acceptable here (in both arms)

@URMC_Neurology one of the very best teachers i had while struggling in the early years of med school. A model of clarity, engagement, simplicity, enthusiasm. I still use some of the mnemonics! Thanks Dr. J.

@PennIMResidents kudos to Dr. Brewster and colleagues for an important study balancing simplicity and elegance, landing squarely on target. His entire thread is well-referenced and worth your time. Not easy to read as a PD but it's a strong call to action. @RyanBrewsterMD

proud of @PennMedicine for leading in this area. I don't fault US News for trying to sell something interesting - their job - but hospitals have spent too much time chasing USN metrics over important mission goals. Time to #refocus. @PennIMResidents

always an emotional time of year - welcome to all the new interns we're so fortunate to have... and goodbye to another group of doctors we're so proud to have trained and befriended. @PennIMResidents

@lukasronnerMD does it drive rank decisions? no, so maybe i get it from that perspective. But this is a human business, and as i memorize names / faces / facts about my new interns, it's my favorite section. I have not memorized a single pre-clinical grade...

i missed this interesting development - this thread by @jbcarmody is worth your time as an intro to thinking through comprehensive drawbacks & benefits. @PennIMResidents
Last week, Tennessee passed legislation to allow international medical graduates to obtain licensure and practice independently *without* completing a U.S. residency program. This is BIG news. So you know what that means. Time to break it down, Winners & Losers™️ style. (🧵)

the referenced LA times article here is a good read @PennIMResidents
Every immunologist, virologist etc (maybe every scientist) should read this. Outstanding. Especially important when the former CDC dir. is spouting scientific nonsense to congress like the human codon for arginine is different from the bat codon. Whatt??

a really nice brief piece that emphasizes that a 'contrarian' or a 'skeptic is a really important part of academic discourse @PennIMResidents @drjohnm
