another example...common sense coaching ain't all that common...this was past the point of coaching malpractice....just plain dumb...U just wonder what game many of these 'coordinator' head coaches r watching on Sundays?💩🏈
Matt Eberflus defends his decision to keep QB Caleb Williams in the game down 20 with 2 min left and both starting tackles out in the name of wanting to "fight to the end." Williams hurt his ankle during that time, but believes he is fine overall.

2022 Devito/Chase Brown....how much better/worse would offense have been with Petersen as OC? Brown so good...Lovie's veteran oline recruits big👍...oline play/development since has been ? at best....Lunney Jr. good 'gameplan' OC 1st drive rest battleship football hit and miss
@Golfndirtracin @therealJeffJ97 Seems like our offense has never had an identity w/Lunney. Unlike year 1, while limited by QB play, that offense had a toughness identity/mentality. I mean, what does the Lunney offense do well?

with 'D' that U can't trust...have to play fm ahead....control game/tempo...they did neither today....had to depend on Altmyer making baller plays like he did vs. KN/Nebraska etc....few OC's sequence plays anymore setting up one play for another...all play pickers/match ups now
@therealJeffJ97 Sometimes it seems we change philosophy from drive to drive. Like we go all power or all pass happy instead of mixing it up. Part of issue is we don’t have enough “home run hitters” yet. No guys that are a threat to take it to the house from anywhere on field.

salary cap is coming....how they divide between hoops and football will be interesting at UIUC....simplest terms as have written....gotta' get the QB right when U don't have all star teams like top 5-6 teams....
@therealJeffJ97 The team is beat up - senior class (what little is left) is Lovie’s parting gift. The trajectory is basically in the right direction. Hope the NIL money keeps trending in the right direction.

Michigan loss took a lot of them both physically and mentally....Oline isn't good and Chiles is taking way too many hits adding up...yeah I post that a lot but all over CFB C these QB's getting beat to sh*t every week.

@therealJeffJ97 Our offense seems kind of grab bagged at times. Like we totally shift philosophy in the middle of a game. Maybe we are trying to cover for the weak o line.

JB was his driver knew all the secrets....threw his 'best friend' under the bus after his first season there.....all U need 2 know.....goes thru assistants at MD. like water.....
@therealJeffJ97 Hard to teach discipline when you have none of your own. I just don’t think people understand the damage he did to people that followed him out there. Poor JB’s career got ruined

Tua's little brother took such a beating for him/bowl games....kid's pro career is💩3 or 4 and bad mouthed other assistants that 'dared' to ? at Illinois....I watch 2C how much Terps screw up...never disappoint.
@therealJeffJ97 Unless Illinois is playing them I couldn’t watch Maryland. Announcers gushing over that goof. 🤢 How many careers did he kill at UNM? Not Pearl level but up there

Bielema brags about he is in his 16th year as a HC...and still makes the same sideline mistakes over and over....this season has gotten lucky the other sidelines many times have screwed up more....like said when hired if he can be Mason at MN. everyone will be happy
@therealJeffJ97 Wasn’t good, but Bielema has proven he’s eons better than all 3 of those guys already. This is a 5 win team that’s going to win 2-3 more games than that mostly because of coaching. It’s Illinois. Games like this are going to happen.

god I thought I heard that 2....they r so bad it's funny...cause they r trying to so hard....hell last week Spencer Tillman on the MD-MN. call said, 'Maryland's secret weapon on the coaching staff is Kevin Sumlin he developed Johnny Manziel' at A&M...bout choked on that 1

if Zook/Beckman/Lovie had 'managed' a slop game like today....fans would go nuts....it was poorly reffed no doubt but....can distract that way but the HC that loss on him...team wasn't ready/sidelines make the same mistake over and over since he got there IMO.
