This isn’t bc of the economy imo. I frequent 3 locations. Usually multiple menu options out, tables are a mess, staff w headphones in. You can’t charge a premium and then run the store like McDonalds. Too many well operated, local fast casual options not beholden to shareholder
Chipotle continues to plunge w/ the stock down a massive 41% from its 52 wk high Same store sales has declined 2 quarters in a row - the first time this has happened in OVER A DECADE People are literally eating less burritos due of the state of the economy Not looking great at

I get wanting to save money, but I could never be the guy leaving my parents babysitting TV instructions like: open the MacBook in the built in → open VPN app → go to crackstreamgg (if it’s down, try methstreamsdad). Login’s on a Post-it.

I’ve learned this week that there are a lot of Cracker Barrel connoisseurs out there. No opinion on rebrand. Haven’t step foot in one in over two decades.

Think it’s disingenuous to act like lower class jobs afforded a lavish lifestyle. It’s the middle class that was killed.

My great grandfather mined coal to feed 8 kids, exempt from WW2 draft yet still relied on govt cheese. My grandma remembers skimming worms off their drinking well. The lower class has always been there. The middle is just worse off now, just with better tech, infrastructure.
I want to live in an America where a man who washes dishes in a restaurant can afford a reliable car and a small home in a safe neighborhood, with good schools for his children and pleasant public parks for his leisure.

Following a guy on IG who bet he could become an alcoholic then quit. The premise is sketchy, but his daily vlog shows in brutal real time how fast booze can wreck a person—day 1 vs day 150 looks like two different humans. Soulless eyes and zero ambition.

These posts come from those without kids in the household or relatively flexible jobs. The reality is there are many dual income families with demanding jobs. I love mowing my lawn (and do), but I also like to see my kids when I’m not working. No shame in prioritizing time.
Something just occurred to me: Of the 7 households in my neighborhood located closest to my home, none do their own yardwork. They all hire lawn maintenance companies. I'm the only person I know of in my neighborhood who does all my own yardwork. I don't remember anyone using

I will never match an emoji to my skin tone. The amount of intention behind that is below my line. Default Simpson’s complexion for life. 🫡

Just got back from a busy 4th of July travel agenda and reading the Kerrville flash flooding. Spent my childhood on the north side of SA / Boerne. My love for the outdoors was born on the Guadalupe - first time camping and floating. Those poor kids, devastating.

The great thing about this time of year is the local farmers market. Instead of me throwing out $5 portobello mushrooms my wife buys each week, I get to throw out $13 shiitake mushrooms that Rita grew in her backyard next to the dog run.

Sonoma Creamery giving us what we didn’t even realize we needed. These are incredible… Think whisps with real pepperoni infused. Nice high protein / low carb snack.

Just went to an old HS friends house for a small gathering of old friends. Hadn’t driven through my hometown in about 15 years. Honestly the most shocking discovery was that the Pizza Hut was still a Pizza Hut and in business. Indicator of a lot of things IMO

Santa Ono needed to hire Brian Kelly’s Culture Assimilation Coach, tough break for him.
How did former U-M pres. Santa Ono fail to count the votes for the Florida job, which he lost 10-6? He could have bowed out prior, probably falsely claim it was on principle (when he has none), and still get a top college job. Now neither side of the DEI divide will take him.

Fair trend. Last 3 natty coaches were dismissed as being unable to win the big games, until they finally did. Kirby Harbaugh Day Franklin next?
How did Michigan win it all in 2023? Retaining a core of veteran talent How did Ohio State win it all in 2024? Retaining a core of veteran talent Who's returning a core of veteran talent this season? Penn State (and Clemson to an extent) See why PSU is an intriguing pick?
