@mayes_middleton please file a SB to legalize online sports betting in Texas. People are betting already but the State is missing out on the tax revenue.

@Truscain @GovAbbott So base teachers pay on the outcome of adolescents and young adults scores on standardized tests that have proven to be faulty? What about all the teachers who teach subjects that do not have a standardized test?

@TheSurvivalPodc @GovAbbott Learning to read starts at home. You want us to come to your job and base your pay on how well someone takes a biased test? The people who would judge our merit would most likely spending little to no time in a classroom as a teacher.

@nathancunneen @GregAbbott_TX What impact will this have on TRS for teacher retirement accounts?

@RealBPhil @NealMcCluskey Ah yes, that checks out. Reading starts at home though, not the schools. Parents need to step up and not expect schools to do it all. Parents should be reading with kids at home every day, especially before they start school and those first few years in school.

@PoCoWife @aramnika @VivekGRamaswamy You obviously have never been trying to manage a group of kids who don't want to do school work and have a phone on them. Teach them at home, we have enough to do in classrooms.

@VivekGRamaswamy How would you classify "Merit-based pay"...would it be on student scores for standardized tests? So educators pay is dependent on the actions of a minor? Good teachers can prepare kids for tests but kids can have off days or be bad test takers. That shouldn't impact a paycheck

@AngelaPaxtonTX Do yall know how this will impact TRS and public school teachers retirement? We don't pay into social security so could this new SB2 impact our retirement like is being reported?

@HelmetHs @RealBPhil Ron Clark Academy uses the slide as a reward. It is also a private school in Atlanta.

@CavalloAnita @RealBPhil Most teachers have classroom libraries in the elementary grade levels. Librarians have been replaced with media specialists.

@GregAbbott_TX How will this impact public school teachers TRS accounts? Did yall take that into account Greg or just wanting to line the pockets of your wealthy friends?

@GovAbbott People have always had a choice Greg. Private schools have been a choice except if you are poor, special ed, a discipline problem, or mentally handicapped.

@mayes_middleton Will there be any movement on passing a law to legalize sports betting and/or casinos in Texas this session? Give the people what they want and we want online sports betting and casinos. So much tax revenue to the State too.
