So many amazing critters being caught for study on the #RVInvestigator in the Gascoyne Marine park, including this #Gigantactis species that uses its lure, complete with mimic eyeball (!) 👁️ to attract prey. 👏nature. @CSIRO @wamuseum @ausmarineparks

7 species of #Manta and devil rays occur in #Indonesian waters. They are mostly caught as #bycatch but are sometimes targeted. Populations are decreasing with all species listed as #endangered or #vulnerable (#iucnredlist). How well do u know your rays?
