Pokemon and Nintendo filed for patents to the mounting system and the throw ball to summon and fight system on MAY of 2024, which is AFTER Palworld launched.
This is a very low blow to do.

In lieu of Nintendo / The Pokemon Company suing Palworld, you have to realize that Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have a lot of patented mechanics that they don't want other games to have. But there's a few that feels very suspiciously greedy that were patented only RECENTLY.
Nintendo w/ The Pokemon Company have filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the Tokyo District Court against Pocketpair Inc.
This lawsuit seeks an injunction against infringement and compensation for damages on the grounds that Palworld, a game developed and released by the

This one for example targets "storable units" and the "state" of a character changing when riding/mounting
