Nine years ago, I lost my father, & Lebanon lost a patriot who believed in its potential.
He wanted us to catch up from lost time, reclaim our independence & find peaceful resolution to Hzb’s arms.
They in turn killed him in broad daylight.
He loved this country. And so do I.
He would turn 71 tomorrow. In his prime, working day & night to produce any light beyond this tunnel of despair.
Hzb is not the elephant in the room. They are the room.
With limited breathing space, I hope I’ve kept a bit of his passion & persuasion alive.
Happy Birthday, Dad.
When a voice is asked to reflect on an assassination decades earlier & becomes the target weeks later.
Or just a standard Lebanese interview.
Mohamad Chatah on Bachir Gemayel’s legacy & his presidency-elect 42 years ago, today.
Thanks to everyone who helped commemorate Mohamad Chatah’s life & career at

And to the speakers, family & friends that stayed to the end.

A reminder from a mind no longer with us.
To anyone referring to false equations, polarization & division as the source of our ungovernability & decline.
There is a fundamental wrong. It ‘secures’ our borders, airport & port on their terms.
And it killed him in broad daylight.
“We saw under the government of Mr. Najib Mikati how Lebanon’s foreign policy was hijacked by Hezbollah. We saw finally that Hezbollah and its Iranian and Syrian patrons were using the existence of a government to finally advance their own agenda.”

When listening to Michel Samaha thank Bashar-al Assad & Hassan Nasrallah (& his former ‘intelligentsia’ / intelligence friends that are desperate for political power) remember Wissam al-Hassan who served the state, caught him red handed & paid the ultimate price two months later.
If there’s one cause that destroyed this country it is ‘Palestine’.
Not Palestine the geography or Palestinians enduring endless suffering.
But the perversion of a century-long conflict into Lebanon’s unique burden, losing our state’s authority while pushing our society to war.

Neutrality is not a ‘right-wing Christian’ or Zionist demand.
It’s not anti-Palestine. It’s Lebanon’s lifeline.
Disassociation from regional war is the only path to sovereign control. Both 1559 & 1701 grant that path, with no shots fired from either side of our southern border.
For Dad.
Your heart beats through mine, that day and today. And that, they’ll never take away.

When I confronted the same man seeking Bitar’s dismissal for avoiding a local investigation into my father’s assassination when he was interior minister, his answer was ‘it’s a political decision not to pursue answers, & it’s beyond my control.’
Seems like he’s in full control.
Jad Ghosn is a friend.
We have sharp disagreements on assassinations, but we share common cause on other topics.
Our episodes thrived because of sincerity & honesty. Watch them for full context & understanding.
His work ethic & devotion is unparalled & admirable.

Hezbollah is trying to take us back to the censorship and fear we endured under Syrian occupation and intimidation.
It simply won’t work.

A coward is an armed religious con artist who kills his own for wanting to end Lebanon’s battlefield role…
& that’s being generous: Hassan Nasrallah is a terrorist.
Anyone embracing Hezbollah as a resistance or detterence force is blinded by hate & doing nothing for Palestine.
Ammonium nitrate stored in our port. And a militia’s arms spread throughout.
On today’s tragic marker & the eve of another senseless war, instead of their grip on this country they should be the ones suffering.
Not us.
TEN YEARS - a special episode commemorating the life and career of Mohamad Chatah

When March 14 is criticized for making compromise after compromise, remember what Hassan Nasrallah’s hitmen did to the movement.
And what his “resistance” militia did to Lebanon.
What Narallah tried doing in Rmeish is exactly what Arafat did to the South:
Bring war to innocent victims of all communties (in the name of fighting Israel), then blame political opponents for treason.
And more like Assad, when they try to defend Lebanon’s interest, kill them.
Turns out if you kill Syrian civilians and assassinate Lebanese politicians you’re just the right fit for the Arab League.
A worthless body that reflects autocracy & short-sightedness.
The LF are choosing restraint over revenge. And Geagea prefers political coalitions over communal partition.
But civil unrest is beyond his control. And Nasrallah is unwilling to change HA’s course.
We are one step closer to canton checkpoints, separation & permanent collapse.
Found a pin

wore while his close friend Basil Fleihan was in an induced coma, struggling for months before succumbing to injury.
A body unrecognizably burned by the same group that tore my father apart.
Their time is coming…& their apologists are worth nothing.
When local process points in Hezbollah’s direction, it either stalls & derails like Tarek Bitar’s investigation.
Or ends in assassination like Wissam Eid & Wissam al-Hassan.
Used in The Hague, essential data that caught them red-handed.
RIP Wissam Eid

The Syrians & Iranians seek common security needs & battle their differences when thay please.
But there is one thing Assad & Nasrallah share in common: a determination to eliminate all statesmen that defended Lebanon’s independence & interests.
