"I don't have anybody to impress. I'm married." This is Loser Talk if I’ve ever heard it. I heard a dude say this while we were sitting in the sauna. He was criticizing other men at the gym who, based on what he was saying, were probably single but were working hard on their bodies to be fit to impress the ladies. I felt sorry for his wife. She’s already gotten his best efforts, and what's coming is years of him mailing it in. Should he get mad when sex only comes once every two weeks at best? Or that she’s let herself go? Seem like a hypocrite to me if he did. For all I know he could be a faithful husband and a loving father. I hate the idea of not giving your best to the woman who you asked to spend the rest of your life with. Being impressive isn’t about accomplishing amazing things. It’s simply putting your best foot forward and giving your best. And if you do that consistently over time your life will reflect the effort you put in. So take care of your hygiene and grooming. Don’t fart in front of your wife. Eat good food and exercise. Buy clothes that fit. Find areas to improve yourself in. Walk and carry yourself like you respect the person you see in the mirror. Give her extra effort to show her you care. Be a man of your word.
