X is standing at the corner of the desk in the video, he literally puts his hand on it. Trump is sitting at the desk, which would have put X directly to the side of Trump. Therefore if he were facing Trump while he was talking we would only see the side of his face, you can literally both of his eyes and they're looking past Trump near the map.
