Idli and Mutton for dinner from Sri Vijayalakshmi Vilas in Palakkad. Idli and mutton kozhambu is a classic in my family and to find that in #Palakkad made me super excited. A roasted coconut gravy and the chicken gravy tasted of coconut, mint and coriander. #Delicious

This Palakkad trip is definitely one for the books. Ramassery idli is very similar to the thatte idli from Karnataka, in appearance. Made three at a time on these pots, layered with a muslin cloth, these are as soft as a flower. #RamasseryIdli #palakkad #KeralaTourism

Ambalapatu is a restaurant in #Thiruvananthapuram that serves this absolutely #delicious thick #coconut #chutney that has maintained its flavour since I was 6. It has a slight sweet aftertaste and is made on an #ammi_kallu (grind stone). Pair with the thick #dosha ! #keralafood

Parippuvada is a very common snack in Kerala, it is almost like an identity. In Trivandrum we have these soaked in spicy and tangy Rasam, and at home we soak mini versions in Theeyal (gravy with dry roasted coconut). #KeralaFood #Parippuvada

This was all for breakfast. Quail, mackarel, duck, mutton, chicken and some salad. Paired with Appam and Porotta. Once in a while, on a #cheat_meal day, during a road trip, stopping at #Vazhiyorakkada for all of this, is definitely an experience. Do not forget the frothy chaya.

I had gone to Andhra Kaaram in Cochin randomly and fell in love with their curd rice and Guntur chicken. This non veg bhojana from them has chicken and egg gravies and a lot of sides. I would still choose curd rice and Guntur chicken iver this. #Andhrafood #cochin

#Pakistani_food from #Pak_Liyari in Dubai. The safed maans (white meat) and #Nihari were delicious with the roti. The Biryani was okay, atleast that is what I felt, but I have a feeling I did not eat it right. Maybe next time.

Kismees, a popular restaurant chain is also at Vaaniyankulam in Palakkad. Their crispy beef and chicken noodle were both good. Such a restaurant in a remote area gets good business, people come in with friends, families and people are super excited to be there.
