This is my first time doing an assignment on-camera with braids. This feels like a big deal to me because I remember a professor of mine (at my HBCU!?) criticizing my hair. They told me “they” prefer women to wear their hair straight and look “refined.” So I’m excited for this 😍

Y’all the AKAs and Deltas are having a donation war in Church today. The AKAs raised $740 for the youth ministry, then the Deltas announced they raised $750. Members from both sides are now going up to the pulpit with cash donations one after the other. I love it 😂.

My mom was pregnant with her only baby girl when she met Muhammad Ali. He rubbed her belly, prayed over the baby and blessed her life. That baby girl, Thai ALI is doing BIG things. Nothing in my life is coincidental, I have a fighters mentality, and that’s on my namesake. 🙏🏾🤍

This is why leagues like the XFL and USFL are extremely important. They allow players who have slipped through the cracks to reevaluated by the NFL. It’s been so awesome to see how some players dreams of playing professionally haven’t had to cease. 🙏🏾🤍.
Update: XFL WR Hakeem Butler received an NFL tryout invitation to the #Steelers . Butler, who's 6'5, 227 pounds and runs 4.48 40 time was originally a 4th round pick by the #Cardinals in 2019. He finished his XFL season with St. Louis with 51 catches, 599 yards and 8 TDs.

I feel the need to drop this every time there’s discourse about HBCUs, their resources or lack thereof. This can’t be fixed w/ alumni donations, ticket sales, fundraisers, etc. Instead of talking down on the institutions,put pressure on those who can make effective changes.

The Texas Southern Tigers are the 2023 SWAC Champions and have punched their ticket (literally, they broke it) to the NCAA Basketball Tournament. They defeated Grambling with a final score of 61-58 and become the first eight seed to win it all. Congratulations @CoachJohnnyJ12 🙌🏾
