Dissapointment in spades this morning with the cafe at RSPB HQ closed Was looking forward to a sausage bap Still got coffee though and swapped the bap for chocolate Not a healthy swap but at least it dampened the dissapointmen a tad 🙂

I can count the number of male Scaup I've seen the last few years on the fingers of one hand so the crackin' male in front of Welches Dam hide at Ouse Wash RSPB is a much welcomed addition to the year list

Pleased to see a Nuthatch at Paxton NR today Didn't see any there last year Another two Goosander has joined the small group increasing it to 6 Other wildfowl included 160 Tufted Duck 33 Goldeneye 50 Gadwall & 77 Wigeon Also 7 Fieldfare 3 Redwing & a stunning male Kingfisher

After a windswept cold wet day at Minsmere it's nice to have a warm hotel room to settle in to The White Hart at Blythburgh next to the estuary where I can listen to Curlews as I drink piping hot chocolate 🙂
