@Bran_Ridire @psychicflying Well, let's say a pokeball costs 200 and a great ball costs 600. You would likely have a higher chance of success with 3 pokeballs than 1 great ball. It'll obviously take a lot longer but if all you want is value for money, it might be the way to go.

@Bran_Ridire @psychicflying I wonder if, from an economic perspective, it's best to just stick with pokeballs. I don't remember what the different pokeballs cost but outside of stuff like Abra which teleports away, you have all the time in the world to just keep throwing them.

@Bran_Ridire Oh, Ninetales is good in gen 5 when it gains the ability drought. But before then, it was rather lacking. Still, if you're just beating up AI trainers, it's all good. :)

@Bran_Ridire Looking it up, Ninetales is pretty awful but Crobat is at least decent. :)

@Bran_Ridire Yeah, to me abilities is the deal breaker. I couldn't go back to the first 2 gens because abilities are what make the pokemon actually feel different to each other. But even in ubers, with Mewtwo allowed to be used, people still put Snorlax at number 1.
