@captainumihyo The earthquake magnitude was determined to be Ms 6.8 based on local seismic stations, but the USGS reported Mw 7.1. The use of different stations, especially in border areas, likely accounts for this discrepancy. PS: PS: A ~3 m offset was generated by 1983 Mw 6.9 Borah Peak EQ.

@patton_cascadia The joint investigation team (Drs. Feng Shi and Mingjian Liang et al.) of the Sichuan Bureau, Xizang Bureau, and the Institute of Geology found that the co-seismic vertical displacement of the Dingri earthquake was as much as 3 meters. Source from
