@LauraPowellEsq It continues to fascinate me how they are simply redefining "democracy" as something other than what it means.
These "threats to democracy" takes make far more sense if you just replace the "democracy" with "unelected bureaucrats and massive corporations doing whatever they want all the time."

@MarkChangizi With everything we've learned since the dismissal, it's really wild to think that these cases were dismissed on a holding that there was no coercion by government against social media companies.
The Changizi court similarly rejected his allegation of a connection between the actions of HHS and Twitter's disciplinary measures.

I've been asked by left-leaning friends and colleagues why so many have lost faith in the political process and want to just "tear it down." It's because of things like this. Fauci, the face of the failed pandemic response, will bear no responsibility for his crimes, including multiple clear instances of perjury.
Biden pardoned Fauci. He says it’s not an admission of guilt. But if Fauci were innocent, no pardon would be needed. The evidence suggests Fauci helped create the Covid pandemic, and then covered it up. The investigation must go forward. All Covid & Fauci Files must be released.

@_MLFootball @verysadvikings @_jason_777 @vikesinsider @VikesCentral @VikingsDaily @Purple_Post @JJVikings @DustBaker This could very well be one of the costliest plays in NFL history. It's not an exaggeration to say that Sam Darnold may have cost himself $70 million in guaranteed salary tonight.

@LauraPowellEsq They will just have to pivot back to "but censorship is actually good."
We have quickly transitioned from "no one was being censored" to "the censorship was actually a good thing."

Among those within the Biden administration pressuring social media companies to censor inconvenient speech was Rob Flaherty, who later served as Deputy Campaign Manager for Kamala Harris.
The examples of Rob Flaherty pushing companies to censor information on the behalf of the government are voluminous. Below are just a few of them. 🧵

@LauraPowellEsq In the midst of his own "intimate parties," Jay Varma supported restrictions on church gatherings, arguing they were a particularly high risk activity.

He may have made some noise about reopening, but he ultimately kept closed the thing over which he alone has ultimate control -- the federal government. By not forcing feds into the office while still president, he set the stage for Biden's telework giveaway. And now he's going to have quite a battle on his hands (both legally and legislatively) trying to undo it.

Using "small price to pay" as a justification only works when there is informed consent. Without that, what we're really talking about is collateral damage.
OFFIT: “With the mRNA vaccines there was myocarditis, which is inflammation of the heart muscle … That was a very small price to pay for that vaccine.”

I'm increasingly convinced that Congress has access to its own AI LLM that helps it write the most corrupt bills imaginable while hiding it all in legal jargon.
this is buried in the new funding bill: it grants each house member and office the right to quash subpoenas for data from their office including emails and electronic records. it essentially makes them grand jury and discovery proof. this is as egregious as it is anathema to the idea of responsible, representative government. who put this in the bill? i'd be very curious to know and to start asking some pointed questions about what they are trying to hide...
