So I watched Kota Factory S3 and I feel as someone who went through that grind more than 10 years ago, I can say a couple of things in retrospect - I didn’t end up clearing IIT JEE. I did decently in AIEEE (JEE Mains now) and BITSAT - and eventually went to BITS. (1/n).

one of the biggest issues people who graduate from premier institutes (IIT, BITS, etc) struggle with is knowing that they have an intellectual edge over others. it's hard to accept that they can be "average" because their entire self worth is based on being better than others.

BITS life was extremely well rounded, and I made so many amazing friends there. I also had so many friends that ended up going to colleges under Mumbai University. If I look back, I think most of us ended up doing well in life, irrespective of which college we went to. (3/n).

I always felt disappointed about not getting into IIT (my dad taught at an IIT at the time and that definitely didn’t make it any better). Maybe that kind of ignited a fire in me that I wanted to make the best of what I could at BITS, to compensate for not getting into IIT. (2/n).
