"Fashionable production" is the whole point. She's playing off the revival of UK garage, which was 20 years ago, meaning it is ripe for reexamination. The less impactful vocals she has is what brings it into the now.
pinkpantheress is so bad… these songs just do not stick, it’s all just fashionable production. her voice is kind of perfect, sitting at a range that has the patina of being pitch-shifted, but she’s never able to capitalize on that. the hooks and songwriting aren’t there.
