Please don’t come to a theatre and abuse the FOH staff who are asking you to wear a mask. You may think the rules are ‘bollocks’ and ‘bullshit’ but we are just doing our jobs and trying to keep everyone safe. 😡😢
My first shift since masks became mandatory in theatres again - about a quarter of the audience today wore them. I asked at least 50 people to wear their masks properly and quite a few had to be asked a few times. Is it really that hard?! We just want to keep our jobs 😭 WEAR IT!
hello, please wear your mask to theatre if you can. we’ve just got theatre back and we can’t bear to lose it again. please, please, please. we are working so hard to stay open and safe 💚
‼️MONKEYPOX EXPERIENCE THREAD‼️ PLEASE READ ‼️
From a 20 year old, partnered gay man who, for 3 weeks prior, only went to and from work. That’s literally all I did 😎
If you are lucky enough to be going to see a show today, please be nice to the FOH/Bar/Box Office staff. Wear your masks and be polite - it’s all we ask. It’s petrifying to have to go into work at the moment 🧡
It’s funny to me that he’s completely alienated his cast but expects them to perform for the next 6 weeks…
Interested to see how this turns out. Can you do Cinderella without a Cinderella? 🤔
After 5 years of constant train journeys, house surfing & countless shows, today is the day I finally move up to London to continue my musical theatre training at a top drama school 😻 I cannot wait for the next 3 years and I cannot wait to be on a stage again 🥲💕
We were hugely let down on our Spring Awakening programmes today. This is a huge shoutout to
@londoncityprint
for getting 300 printed and delivered in 4 hours (!!!!!) so we could fulfill the orders of everyone who had pre-ordered one
Whelp. So even after the 4 hours in A&E just to be told that it’s really unlikely as I haven’t been around anyone with it, i’ve got it. And I am SO ill. Please stay safe and get your vaccine when you can X
Regional theatre is SUCH a hard sell at the moment. It’s really, really upsetting to see so many shows have to cancel performances/runs because houses don’t fill and tickets don’t sell. Felt this one. Love to everyone involved
Why are creatives still putting on shows with a cast of 21 white people? Black and white headshots don’t hide this. Why are smaller creatives with less time, money, resources than you working harder to diversify? I have no doubt you can get more people in the room than me.
WEAR YOUR MASK. Shows are closing again, rapidly. Keep us safe and open. Love to the companies of
- Book of Mormon tour
- Lion King
- Curious Incident
- Get Up Stand Up
- Cabaret
- Comedy of Errors
- Come From Away
- Rhythmics
You’ll be back smashing it before you know it <3

Hi plz stop filming the show our theatre is tiny and we can literally see your phone! We get told every time someone attends who’s been caught filming/seen posting about it on social media, too
It’s literally not an STI or gay disease. If i was a straight man, i’d still have caught it and be suffering in the same way.
- The fact that this disease hit me so hard by bringing on a UTI is even WORSE. Kill me
- You can claim ESA from the Government for Monkeypox illness
Have to echo what Simon says - Hannah is the absolute foundation for our company and constantly shows professionalism and grace to all cast, crew, FOH & audience members. She deserves these nominations and deserves the awards even more! (She’s also the hardest worker EVER).
I hope Hannah Lowther is in every company I work for, forever. People talk a lot about talent - which Hannah has in spades (she’s played ALL THREE Heathers)! Her talent speaks for itself. But Hannah is also a shining light (yes this is a thread)

So excited to be casting Ordinary Days with
@benjaminjdwyer
! Submit to submissions
@taylorjayproductions
.com or on Spotlight! I’d love as many submissions as possible so we can put together the best cast possible!
SO YOU’RE GONNA FOLLOW THE AVOCADOS DOWN THE STAIRS GO THROUGH THE PINK POOL NOODLES TURN LEFT AT THE PINK FRINGE CURTAIN GO DOWN THE STAIRS TURN RIGHT WALK PAST THE BAR GO DOWN THE STAIRS AGAIN AND YOU’LL FIND THE BALL PIT DODGEMS BLANKETS AN-
So to start with, clearly I caught this on the tube. The only situation i’ve been faced with that had tons of people crammed into a small, un-air conditioned space. So please don’t assume that because you don’t have sexual contact with a gay man that you won’t catch it!
That’s fine - but I had no food, no water, I couldn’t go out to get anyones attention and I couldn’t go to the toilet. Not great with a UTI! Finally got seen and the first question I was asked was ‘Are you gay’. LOL
@TheOtherPalace
You know as well as I do that TOP’s casual contracts are open-ended and not specific to shows, but to BKL (as we could be asked to work at Windsor too). This wasn’t the right response.
I’m so excited to be bringing our lockdown workshops to London - IN PERSON! 💗
The first one is the immensely talented Six Queen
@LaurenDrew2
! She’ll be teaching a Legally Blonde dance class - this is for beginners, intermediate or advance!
🎟
Also, it’s so funny to me that people are trying to call out a show for low diversity in their cast when they are still best friends with someone who made racist comments & never apologised- Hypocritical
- Everyone needs to be careful of this. It is a horrible illness and is easily mistaken as a cold/STD. It’s neither, it’s WORSE.
- In the UK (not sure about anywhere else) the tests are limited. You can only be tested by taking a swab from your lesion, so it’s not like COVID.
Got to the hospital and was told to wait outside by the receptionist. A nurse calls me in then tells me off for coming in… I was just doing what I was told 😂 Got put in an isolation room and was left there alone for FOUR. HOURS.
I was then told that I probably have an STD, to which I asked how they know that. They didn’t. They took a swab of my spot, told me I probably didn’t have Monkeypox as I didn’t have contact with anyone and then sent me on my merry way. I went home and isolated.
That was the complete worst of it. I’m recovering now, have had basically every symptom under the sun. I’m on day 12 of symptoms (from the spot appearing) and day 6 of testing positive. A few things I will say…
Sunday 31st: Got a positive test result through the hospital patient portal. No call, or text. Just happened to see the update when I went on the website 😂
Tuesday 26th: A sudden 24hr illness hits me. I can’t get out of bed, i’m shivery and sweaty, i’ve got a migraine, i’m light sensitive, I feel sick. It’s horrible. I’d just worked a 60 hour work week, so I assumed it was just being burnt out.
After going to see Gaga, I quickly felt very ill. Partly due to the fact I was on a ridiculously crowded overground, but I knew something was wrong. I got back home and realised that my spot had started turning black - this is when I started to panic
to which I replied: I can go to my partner’s in Scotland, or the NHS can fork out £2k for 3 weeks in a hotel - he obviously said go to Scotland, just cover your spot and wear a mask’ which I did). Not the best idea, as poor NHS Scotland has not a single
Thursday 28th: Exactly the same - worked, felt okay ish. Assumed I was still a bit run down. Spot hadn’t gone away, and was a bit confused at this point.
clue on how to deal with Monkeypox. Ended up on the phone with 111 and getting a Lidocaine gel after 5 hours (just before they sent me to hospital and catheterised me, as I hadn’t peed in 24 hours! So fun!)
Monday 1st: I woke up in the morning and I could not pee. Like at all. The most excruciating pain I have ever felt. I ended up having to travel to Scotland to isolate (because the doctor asked me if I had anywhere to isolate, I said no and he said i’d have to find somewhere…
Wednesday 27th: All better again. Went back to work, felt fine. Didn’t notice any issues, except for the fact I couldn’t seem to regulate my body temperature. I was shivering, then boiling hot and it kept switching.
Monday 25th: My first symptom was a small spot on my forehead. Didn’t think much of it, just general Acne as per. Did my normal spot routine and thought nothing of it. I was working all day and felt fine.
Friday 29th: This was my day off, so I slept in and woke up feeling great. I had woken up and had pain peeing, so I saw the doctor who told me I had a UTI, so got standard antibiotics. Felt fine otherwise and then went to see Lady Gaga. This is where it starts going downhill…
Saturday 30th: I woke up and my lymph nodes in my neck and groin were like peas. I was feeling really hot and ill again, so I called 111 - I called at 10.30am and waited until 12.30pm for a call back to tell me to head to Charing Cross hospital at 4pm. So I did…
seeing this discussion across twitter this week has been really disappointing- people within the industry have been patronising and condescending towards anyone that chooses to say broadway is inaccessible for most (which, as a producer, i still believe it is)
whether people know the business or not is irrelevant – broadway tickets largely aren’t affordable. a dress for $500 might be hand stitched from the finest materials, it’s still unaffordable to most people
I am so proud of our cast, crew, FOH team and everyone at
@BKL_Productions
for working their absolute hardest to try and put this production back on. I am proud to work with them ❤️
PERFORMANCE CANCELLATIONS
Mon 27 Dec, 7.30pm & Tue 28 Dec, 7.30pm
Further to yesterday's cancellation, we are really sorry to let you know, despite our best efforts, we are no longer able to go ahead with this evening’s performance or tomorrow evening's performances of Heathers.
4 years after I first played Martha Dunstock in the workshop
@TheOtherPalace
and now I get to do the show properly. Life’s a mysterious journey and I couldn’t be happier with where I’m being taken 💛❤️💚💙
❗️ An important update for anyone planning a visit to The Other Palace!
As a seated venue, COVID passports are NOT required for entry. Though in line with the latest recommendations audience members are encouraged to take lateral flow tests before attending
No cause why do some agents just submit all of their clients for roles without reading the breakdown? If i’m looking for a playing age of 30-50 i’m not quite looking for your Young Performer client 😦
@TUIUK
Hi, I just got back from my holiday. Booked package through you. Flight on the way there was diverted midway through and we ended up missing a night and a whole day in our hotel. Was told TUI would get in touch post holiday but haven’t heard. Plz help?
Also - this is my first BIG casting venture. I’ve always had some pretty awesome casting people help me out- but I decided to go it alone this time. We had 750+ submissions and have cut that down to 170 tapes. I’m loving watching them all! But interesting to find that
Hi
@LNER
we’re stuck on the train and have been delayed nearly 60 minutes - can I please ask at what point we’ll be offered complimentary refreshments under the Rail Passengers Rights and Obligation regulation?
