@MarkWillia35 @TammyTyrrell_ Awful? Both have great atmosphere & capacity. What are you comparing it to? Major city stadia such as the MCG or Optus? If the Devils are successful, the case for the stadium follows. Both Hobart & Launnie have existing AFL standard venues that will help create the team.

@MarkWillia35 @TammyTyrrell_ We risk straw man-ing this. Why build a new stadium for the Devils when there are 2 existing stadia that are adequate for hosting AFL. As for Tassie AFL, the Devil will be in the detail of how many turn up to games in the first 5-years.

@MarkWillia35 @TammyTyrrell_ Or maybe you've missed the point. If UTAS is good enough for Hawthorn, its good enough for the Devils. Play big games there as it has biggest capacity and history of locals turning up to watch.

@KrisJJohnston We live in the healthiest environment, yet on average Tasmanians die sooner than those on the mainland.

@bj_stansfield Agree with the sentiment. Not sure its just a leftist agenda. Having briefly been a British civil servant, the issue was fitting into boxes. It takes a Minister with conviction to overrule them, and therein lies the problem.

@winsordobbin @bj_stansfield I usually agree or respect your opinions, but I think this one is a strawman argument.

@shannon_wells Given his attendance record in State Parliament as well, one could be forgiven for thinking he's lazy. Clearly he doesn't see parliamentary politics the best way to hold the government to account.

@anonn4now Its Kosher. Most politicians give awards to students at the end of the year and there is no audit trail as to where the funds have come from to pay for it. This one is more transparent and honest than the others.

@TasmanianLabor Is this coming from GST or a separate pot? Devil, as always, is in the detail.

@Utgp @RuthForrestMLC @themercurycomau Tas Labor's stadium policy was vague. It was yes to the team and look at the deal and see if there is a way of renegotiation. Northern MPs and candidates were against the stadium, southern ones were pro.

@workdemographer The problem is that there aren't enough elected politicians to fill the roles in Tasmania, despite increasing parliament from 25 to 35.
