could this be a game-changer for AI energy needs? BREAKING: French President @EmmanuelMacron just met with @sama in Paris to discuss nuclear energy for AI! with 🇫🇷 France having the world's most spare nuclear capacity
MACRON MEETING ALTMAN IN PARIS The guy with the most spare nuclear capacity in the world just sat down with the guy who says he needs the most of it. A friend sent me this pic he took in Paris. It happened two hours ago. We can guess what this meeting is for: @sama wants French nuclear energy, and/or @EmmanuelMacron wants to sell it. France has one of the worst-performing nuclear fleets in the world, wasting enough power each year to power at least two of Sam's proposed 5GW "Stargate" superclusters. French nuclear costs about €60 per MWh to produce versus $30 in the USA. Same reactor technology! Poor reactor uptime explains most of the difference. How does France waste its nuclear? - Runs many plants on a yearly refueling cycle; global standard is 1.5-2 years l - Takes two months to refuel. In the USA we do it in 3 weeks on the same reactor type. - Tons of random breakdowns and reactor halts. Indicates poor incentives for high performance. - No reactor uprates. Their reactors could make 15% more power for little extra cost - Shut down a great nuclear plant in 2021 just to amuse the greens and the Germans - Frequently turn down the nuclear plants to make money for fossil plants and renewables; insane practice - Insane and destructive regulatory practices from the regulator being captured by anti-nuclear forces. Should revert to the US NRC standards which are plenty strict.

I think he's probably just trying to slow us down. He obviously is a competitor. It's, you know, he's working hard and he's raised a lot of money for XAI, and they're trying to compete with us from a technological perspective, from, you know, getting the product into the market. And I wish he would just compete by building better products. But I think there's been a lot of tactics, you know, many, many lawsuits, all sorts of other crazy stuff out of this. And we'll try to just put our head down and keep working.

Highlights everyone missed OpenAI is willing to work with China🫡🙀 This interview covered all the confusion: - Refusing $100B from Elon Musk - OpenAI is willing to work with China - OpenAI is not for sale - "Safety" is integral part of everything they do - Board's decision is still pending to buy OpenAI off the non-profit - "Mission is important" - Grok is not open-source either - Sam says safety is not the recent concern from users, but the cost cut is 🙏
