I made a short little comparison of gumi's vocaloid and synthv voicebanks. vocaloid is manual tuning and synthv is all auto-pitch... I'm not very impressed with her tbh 😭

some english speakers have remarkably poor attitude towards english voicebanks recorded by non-native english vocalists. it’s one of those forms of vsynth elitism that’s super offputting because of how widespread it is. it scares people away from wanting to make english vocals 😕

usually if synthv ai updates don't capture the character of vocals very well they get the voice provider's tone down super well, but gumi ai doesn't really do either of those, sometimes I swear I don't hear her at all... it's kind of disappointing as a huge fan of megumi nakajima
