My timeline is full of love, admiration and respect for our late friend Nigel Pearson. To excel at one type of sports commentary is special, but to excel at three is just so - well - Nige. I loved him as you all loved him - because he was genuine and so so kind.

Whenever I saw Nige at a game I would usually shout “Nigel Pearson, that’s right!!!” to him in my ‘Nige’ voice and he would always respond with “No mistake at all!!!!” . Then we’d get the balti pies in. I’ll miss that silly little tradition more than you’d know.

I watch as much EFL as I do Premier League and I am certain that VAR is NOT needed at any level. It’s poorly utilised & we have been lied to with the mantra “Minimum interference for maximum benefit”. That line has been shown to be absolute cobblers since its inception. Get rid.
