@MetaPrinxss Beacsuse WordCamp organisers are not his employees and cannot request "alignment" from them. And for total control of course.

FSE is not mature but not necessary and not for the everyday user. The block editor itself though has a small learning curve, is lightweight, can be adjusted to the bare minimals and can be heavily extended. Also, the core needed some builder after sticking with the text editor for almost 20 years. So, overall I guess it is OK. :)

@ChapitreOnze I am, although not very active yet. To be honest I am only active on Facebook, because this is where most of my friends are. Twitter I use only because it has been popular in the WordPress ecosystem (so far at least).

I think that if you lay things down in terms of power Matt still holds most of them at his disposal. Few exceptions exist like Pressconf and some -few- meetups, but they are a very small minority statistically. Think of it this way: any, literally ANY, entity in the WordPress ecosystem, be it a blog or a hosting company or a meetup or you name it, is proven to be at Matt's disposal, should he think they are "anti-WordPress" or "anti-Automattic" (these are the terms he uses). I don't like judging things in terms of power, and I don't normally do, I think it's toxic, but, at the moment this is what we are witnessing. Look at this little development from the sponsors' vetting process for WordCamps. Doesn't matter how well you comply. Two people are the ultimate judges.
