@piano_man_jr @MitchSchwartz71 It's an approach that has its downside and risks: the void years mean they'll still have a cap hit of ~$26 mil for Cox and Kelce next season despite retiring after '23, and also made Bradberry & Huff uncuttable regardless of their play falling off a cliff.

@NFL_DougFarrar @AthlonSports There's going to be columns about teams now having the playbook on how to "solve" Mahomes as well as Reid's offense...but most teams don't have Fangio & the talent on the Eagles' D, so it won't be that simple.

@AndrewDiCecco Everything I've heard about Bradberry this season after his injury is that he did all he could to help his teammates, when he could have just done his rehab, taken his money, and called it a season. He can wear his ring without reservations.

@lawlornfl Selfless player all season with embracing the efficiency priority on offense & centering Saquon to win, instead of pushing for bigger passing stats.

@JeffKerrCBS Such an awesome story, and one of hope for many guys in the spot he was in this time last year, that second chances really do exist.

@GrizzlyBDS @lawlornfl 2020 was bad, but soon enough after '17 to not be crushing & it turned around very quickly. We haven't had three consecutive losing seasons this century - that's nearly two generations who think this kind of winning on the regular is jst normal and average in the NFL (it isn't).

@MickeyRaz @lawlornfl Considering where they were at the end of last year, its been amazingly successful. Each year, 97% of all teams don't win the Super Bowl, so that's a prescription for misery as a fan if that's the minimum-expectation-line every season.

@GaryWolensky @lawlornfl To be fair, '88 was a pretty good year: Randall was incredible, both the offense and defense were clicking for the first time since Vermeil, and the loss in the Fog Bowl felt like the start of something special, rather than the apex of the Buddy years that it turned out to be.

@KDTrey5 I envy your state of mind if this is the craziest thing you've read all week, crazy as it may be - *looks over at everything happening in DC and politics right now*...

@Diss_Right @sdeasland1 @asymmetricinfo I would think the people wanting to doxx her and her family, automatically jumping to DEI as the reason for the tragedy, etc. are far more at fault here. I don't buy the "they have no choice in how they're reacting - see how the family is behaving" excuse for their behavior.

@sdeasland1 @asymmetricinfo I don't think the reaction could be "worse," frankly. It wasn't like there was some kind of calm, sane reaction that was going to happen if her social media was left unchanged - it would have been dissected to find *something* to justify the verdict that had already been reached.

@JonnyPage9 Andy is very hard to beat with two weeks prep time - not impossible, just very hard. Recall in the SB he found that motion-return vulnerability in Gannon's defense in '22, I think for 2 of their TDs?

@naasking @tracewoodgrains ..which gets back to my original point, though: the timing means the two aren't separable, and the perception remains for a lot of folks of linking on to a tragedy's attention for one's own reasons ; you can argue all you want that that perception is unfair, but it is what it is.

@naasking @tracewoodgrains "You know, airline security really needs to be tightened up, and my political opponents and their policies caused this to happen (maybe, I'm just sayin') " wouldn't have fit this moment, either.
