“Before Zionism was Jewish, it was imperial.” I posted this before but Malm’s “The Destruction of Palestine Is the Destruction of the Earth” is a great history of Zionism going back further than Herzl to the British shelling Akko in 1840 and use of coal

This was wild. The ad is linked, but Delta claimed in 2020 “when you choose to fly Delta, your flight will be carbon neutral.” In the ESG report, turns out they bought up a bunch of existing forests in Indonesia and Cambodia and called it even.

My first new article in a year is out with @proteanmag ! An excerpt from Future of Denial, it’s everything you should know about tree-planting carbon offsets, Tesla’s carbon trade grift, expense of direct air capture, and a company that lets you pay for the sin of breathing

Tad DeLay ( @taddelay ) writes on the futility of carbon offset programs. The exaggerated promises of carbon sequestration allow corporations like Delta Airlines, BP, and Tesla to make absurd claims of neutrality and launder ever-worsening emissions.

From my last book. Half of American Christians don’t believe there will be a 22nd century, along with 2/3rds of White Evangelicals and around 1/5 to 1/3 of all Americans. Don’t know if apocalypticism matters for policy but lurks in the evangelical-capitalist resonance machine
