Om een historische kracht te worden, moet een idee in het algemeen gesimplificeerd worden tot het begripsniveau van een kind. Als een onnozele waanvoorstelling jarenlang vorm  heeft gekregen kan het heel goed decennia later haar intrede doen in de wereldpolitiek.
