While we’ve received isolated thunderstorms and a few ground strikes over the past couple of days, ODF hasn’t responded to a single lightning-caused fire yet. In no way does that mean we’re out of the woods yet though. More info —>
𝘼𝙁𝙏𝙀𝙍 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙎𝙏𝙊𝙍𝙈: An estimated 50 fires have been reported on our district following thunderstorms on Sunday Of those, 35 fires were confirmed as active, 20 have been put out, and 15 are in various stages of response.

A strike team with members from as far as Arizona and Tennessee is making its way to the Rogue Valley to provide additional initial attack capacity to the Oregon Department of Forestry Southern Oregon Area for up to two weeks.

engines responded to a vehicle fire and subsequent wildland fire at the Willow Lake campground just after 5 p.m. The fire is now 100% lined and 100% mopped up; firefighters were able to stop it at a quarter of an acre. More info —>
