Traditional manual brain tumor measurements are labor-intensive, prone to inaccuracies, and subject to inter-reader variability due to complex tumor morphology and technical variations between studies. In contrast, automated tumor volume quantification provides precise, reproducible, and objective measurements for evaluating interval changes. @Cortechs_ai's FDA-cleared #NeuroQuant #Brain #Tumor software represents a transformative innovation in neuro-oncology, enhancing radiologists’ ability to evaluate brain tumors with greater accuracy and efficiency. Leveraging #AI, the software automates segmentation and volumetric analysis of high- and low-grade diffuse gliomas, both pre- and post-treatment, enabling precision-based longitudinal monitoring of tumor changes over time. The software calculates the volume of enhancing tumor tissue, as well as the surrounding zone of FLAIR hyperintensity, central necrotic core, and post-operative resection cavity. These measurements facilitate longitudinal tracking of these tumor subregions in addition to overall tumor size, significantly enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of longitudinal brain tumor assessment across multiple time points. One of the most significant hurdles in brain tumor imaging is differentiating disease recurrence from treatment-induced pseudoprogression. To address this, NeuroQuant Brain Tumor incorporates patented Restriction Spectrum Imaging (RSI), an advanced diffusion-based deep learning method. RSI helps distinguish true tumor progression, which appears “hot” on RSI maps, from pseudoprogression, thereby serving as a valuable imaging biomarker for glioblastoma multiforme. The software can be integrated into radiation treatment planning systems, offering enhanced precision in targeting lesions, ultimately improving patient outcomes. NeuroQuant Brain Tumor is expanding its capabilities this year to include #meningiomas and #metastases, which represent a significant proportion of central nervous system #neoplasms. The Palisades and Eaton fires, two of the deadliest and most destructive wildfires in California history, reached 100 percent containment a couple of days ago, more than three weeks after they began. The wildfires killed at least 29 people, destroyed 16,200 structures, and displaced 150,000 residents. The impact will last for years, and the cost could be hundreds of billions. However, amid this tragedy, there was an overwhelming outpouring of love and support locally, nationally, and abroad. Another exciting milestone was reached this week in the #Alzheimer’s disease landscape! 👉𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀: On Jan 26, 2025, @EisaiUS and @biogen announced @FDA approval of IV maintenance dosing of once every 4 weeks for #lecanemab. For #AD maintenance therapy, once a month dosing regimen is easier for patients and caregivers compared to the q2 week regimen required in the initial 18 months of treatment. #LEQEMBI is unique in the market space as it is the only anti-amyloid therapy that works to fight AD in 2 ways: continuously clearing #protofibrils and also rapidly clearing #amyloid #plaque. This is important because highly toxic protofibrils can continue to cause #neuronal injury even after amyloid-beta (Aβ) plaque has been cleared from the #brain. 👉𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 1) Do you lose treatment benefits if you stop treatment at 18 months? a. Yes! Data from the off-treatment period between the Phase 2 core study and LTE showed that discontinuation of treatment is associated with reaccumulation of #amyloid #PET (#Centiloid) biomarkers, #plasma biomarkers, and #CSF #biomarkers, as well as reversion to placebo rate of #cognitive decline. 2) Sustained treatment has been shown to decelerate disease progression and extend the therapeutic benefits, thereby preserving the patient's cognitive and functional abilities for a longer duration. 👉𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: In other exciting news, on Jan 13, 2025, the FDA accepted LEQEMBI’s biologics license application (#BLA) for #subcutaneous maintenance dosing. If the FDA approves subcutaneous maintenance dosing, LEQEMBI will be the only treatment for AD that can be administered subcutaneously at home using an autoinjector (#AI), which will offer significant convenience advantages to patients and caregivers. #dementia @eisaiusneuro #neurorad

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been praying for all of us in Los Angeles as our beautiful city burns. I thought we may lose our home today as the #Kenneth #fire erupted just 1.5 blocks away initiating a mandatory evacuation as the winds soared, but the amazing #LAFD was incredibly efficient at controlling it. My family is safe. Both of my previous homes in the Palisades have burned to the ground. I pray for all the people, including our friends, who have lost their homes and businesses in these past few days and now tragically some have lost their lives as well. My heart breaks for everyone in the Pacific #Palisades, and now #Malibu, Santa Monica, and elsewhere in #LA.
