It isn’t. That’s the point. US citizens can help all they want and write large voluntary checks to the humanitarian cause that they choose. It is not the government’s duty to tax us and decide what humanitarian causes to invest in while pocketing kick backs and huge administrative fees.

So the US Taxpayer is keeping people alive that are refugees from Myanmar that are living in Taiwanese camps? I don't want anybody to lose their healthcare or lose their lives, but why is that burden not handled regionally? Why the USA taxpayer. Why not private organizations where people can write as many personal checks as they want to in effort of keeping as many refugees alive that they want to...on the other side of the planet. While this is a humanitarian issue...it is not a US taxpayer issue.
