for nearly all of World War II. 2/3 were U.S. citizens & born in the US. To be interred one only had to be 1/16 Japanese – that equals having one great-great grandparent – to be taken to internment camps with only what they could carry. #DayofRemembrance.

Their homes, businesses, savings, property, & assets were seized. Japanese Americans were relocated & held in a total of 10 camps in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Utah & Wyoming. Executive Order 9066 was not rescinded until Feb 16 1976 by Gerald Ford, 34 years later.
