@duncan__c The issue is that no one wants to pay for anything better. Restaurants have to bear the cost of more expensive straws, cups, to go containers, etc and get nothing in return. People don’t go somewhere because they have good straws.

@JohnArnoldFndtn Thanks for sharing. I have a deep respect for what you were able to do. What do you think set you apart from the average gas trader?

@BenWolke @drbrock37 On top of that, Southern Russia is seeing its driest winter in a very long time. CPT bids tell the whole story. They were weak in Dec. Risk is demand falls off a cliff out forward and the tighter Russian supplies are offset through lower demand.

@modelsnadderall All storage assets really are is call options. If you looked at it through that lens, what kind of implied vol is it trading at?

@BenWolke @drbrock37 Lack of supply in the Black Sea makes it look like SRW, and potentially HRW, will end up with a large export program April forward. More than USDA has in. Russia is dry and CPT bids rising. Liquidity gone from Black Sea.

@the_good_matty @ronaldmannak @jzellis I have tried a lot and have never found anything great. I want to extract the data that is discussed in various paragraphs and put it in a clean table

@stevehouf You’re asking democrats to go against every thing that they are. Dems are the nerds from school that sat in the front as the teachers pet and tattled on other kids for breaking any rules. They live life wanting to be told what the rules are because it’s safe.

@the_good_matty @ronaldmannak @jzellis Are you implying LLM’s are not needed for converting pdf’s to another clean data format? If so, what tool is best? Trying to learn.

@__paleologo @Spiindoctor @YannickKae Does this imply the Hurst Exponent is no longer used in econophysics or in finance?

@BuBarrelBull If you built this same chart with just stocks it would still look like it currently does. It’s not because of it being a ratio.

@stevehouf @ecommerceshares Just because something is the case at a certain moment in time does not mean it has to be the case into perpetuity. Pretty simple question, do you think the US is capable of bringing back that manufacturing if it chooses to?

@alz_zyd_ Humans can't throw a baseball as hard as a robot. Why use training devices for pitchers to throw harder when we could just get machines to do it?

@bennpeifert @yzhang390 Nope, not saying that at all. If it is very hard to compare prices of anything today versus 130 years ago then why did you act like it was a simple thing to do in your original post? You can't say it isn't misleading and then also state that it's hard to make any comparisons.

@bennpeifert @yzhang390 Point is that your use of CPI, or something close to it, is misleading. This is well documented and it surprises me you're acting like it isn't. If a house cost 10k in 1890 then it terms of houses that would be 420k today.

@bennpeifert @yzhang390 So in house purchasing terms their salary of 10k equivalent is really 420k?

@__paleologo Any chance DeepSeek was trained on Chinese papers that were translated into English while the other models aren't?
