@swatic12 Taking out a car from the garage takes time esp in a congested area like mumbai. Plus they were escaping from an intruder and ran outside the building( so the thought of grabbing car keys may not have occurred to them). Probably an auto was passing by so they stopped and took it

@darab_farooqui Culturally it is easy for the Poor to make his living in India.. he doesn't have the skillset(Language especially) to make more money in a Country where he is treated as Pariah. At least in india, there is hope that he or his kids can grow out of poverty to a simple middle class
