I don't want a US-style health service. I appreciate that my kids were able to get braces with no extra cost I had to pay. I like not having to pay for prescriptions. I like having free eye appointments.

This yearβs chemistry laureates Demis Hassabis and John Jumper have developed an AI model, AlphaFold2, to solve a 50-year-old problem: predicting proteinsβ complex structures. Check out two examples of protein structures determined using AlphaFold2. First up, a bacterial enzyme that causes antibiotic resistance. @asherichia Because the Nobel prizes go to the research group leaders, NOT persons within that group. Ms. Lee is a senior scientist within the research group of her husband, Prof. Victor Ambros. It would be nice if prize giving organizations recognize the whole group (past & present).

@ZJAyres Actually having a research career pathway w/in academia that responds appropriately to the needs of research & researchers would be a start in addressing the leaving. As it is, the loss of researchers is part of the current system.

Arab countries, armies of the US and other Western countries intercepted Iranian rockets hitting Israeli occupation last night that targeted only military bases, why have not they intercepted Israeli rockets targeting civilians in #Gaza for 12 months?!
