Aznou needs to come on at some point in this game. The attack via the full-backs is too static in the final third & the midfield is doing all the creativity work. Some space out wide on the left that can use his passing

Both goals in this half came from Kimmich stringing play into dangerous areas on both sides. Top vision & he’s got the best range of passing. He’s been the best midfielder in the world this season.

It is becoming a bad outlook on the club & Kompany if there is still no clear development pathway for youngsters into the first team, especially when the pros on decline gets load of chances. The treatment of Tel embarrassing & it will send a signal to several young top talents.

There’s been a dip of form across the team, we don’t hunt in the press again & it’s led a string of goals conceded. Our style of play is draining (mentally, physically) & relies on a lot of close combinations to string play. Having fresh players return is key for the next weeks.

Bang again with the swinging near-post corner from Kimmich. Intentional delivery to bypass freiburg’s set piece defending. We’ve scored a couple this season in that area & those little marginal gains are enough to give 3 points in a game.
Kimmich has been trying a new corner delivery in recent games. He swings the ball near post to disrupt box activities (convert a rebound) or connect with a runner. Even the goal vs PSG came from this. Once the coaching on the training ground aligns with this, it will be lethal.

With Davies’s injury & the left-back role in this system, it’s time to put faith in Aznou purely from a tactical sense. He can replicate the Davies role of pushing high with the way he evades pressure & accelerates play. Top left-footed creative passing which is key vs low-blocks

The aggressive man2man high press with the CBs is a major weakness for bayern in the CL. A breach of the press out-wide (especially on the left) with a passer punting a long pass is a common theme (vs Villa, barca). Leaves too much gap to cover with Min-jae playing through injury
An issue with going with a man-to-man marking system with your CBs in a highline is they can get drawn to the ball + man too much (the ball will always be faster) & get caught up the pitch easily instead of blocking space on the back-foot. That compactness will always be missing.

The consistency of Michael Olise’s delivery is incredible. Not many attackers can boast of such set-piece threat, how does he generate such angle on the ball for that Goretzka assist. Mental.

First half further shows Olise has cemented himself as a key cog in Kompany’s 4-2-3-1. Both as an inside right winger or #10. That central freedom to move into any area whether dropping deep in build-up or moving between the lines. He is a dangerous player in this form

If steady game time issue persists for Tel then a loan to Frankfurt is the dream Marmoush gap-filler. An inside forward role is his future & no better place to improve his decision making & penalty box behavior. Will benefit from the transition style & the double 9s with Ekitike.
