This is a devastating tally of injuries and I sincerely wish Lee a full and speedy recovery. However I would call into serious question the NW200 organisation/communications protocol (if there is such a thing) where the event figurehead declared to a major news outlet that the
Lee Johnston is on the “slow road to recovery” and his family have thanked the medics who kept him “alive on the way to hospital” after his crash at the North West 200.
