Working in partnership with @TheRCA and the @WelfareBoard , we have developed a Performance Quality Standard (PQS) as a framework to continually ensure racecourse tracks are consistently performing at an optimum level, whilst enhancing horse and jockey welfare. The PQS takes a data-driven approach to understanding and managing your racecourse, helping to inform decision-making and management strategies This week, Dr Christian Spring presented the latest insights at Cheltenham Racecourse and York Racecourse. Christian was supported at the event by number of colleagues and it was great to see the innovative work being driven forward in the industry. The PQS approach means... ☑️ Maintaining a suitable, high standard of surface ☑️ Tracking changes over time to inform management decisions ☑️ Detection and prevention of issues ☑️ Assessment of consistency of racing surface ☑️ Informed decision making based on scientific approach ☑️ Longer term strategic improvements We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with the RCA, HWB and racecourses across the UK to improve surface standards.
