Katsuki only ever wore his uniform tie properly when Deku's safety was on the line and really wanted to get the rescue mission to happen. Deku grabbing it is a nice way to remind everyone of that. Deku really got a hold on him. Literally and figuratively ๐ ๐ #BKDK

Horikoshi mentioned AKIRA and BERSERK in a recent comment and I totally see some influences in the ending (Shigaraki's ever-growing flesh and his cape remind me of Tetsuo). Hori's Vol 37 cover is similar to that of BERSERK where Guts holds Casca ๐งก๐ . Izuku coming back โฌ๏ธ.

Exactly! the ๐ค are important moments in the manga, and full of symbolism. Horikoshi uses them carefully! This opening cheapens the gesture. Clearly, Bones doesn't understand what their narrative function is in MHA. ( Shonen Jump did it right! staying loyal to the manga ) โฌ.

Toga's symbol being a Spider lily, a symbol of ''death'' ''farewell'' and ''rebirth'', makes sense since Toga is the one that will aid Ochako in saying goodbye to the feelings she doesn't need. They will both help each other transition to another phase of life.

Katsuki was always meant to have this role. He's been written to be Deku's other half, and as I said before, the romantic implication of Katsuki being Deku's destined other half (and the person he will walk life side by side with, AS ONE) is HUGE! ๐งก๐.

so I already considered it basically canon (especially since Nine was shown in the manga before) but to have the explicit confirmation that it IS part of the canon MHA manga universe is great, given what that movie and it's heavy symbolism means for bkdk โ.

Is it visually similar? yes, but the truly fascinating part is the explanation the AKIRA lore gives as to WHY this is happening to Tetsuo, as it shines a light on the fact that there are to some extent narrative parallels going on between the two series โ.

Though ''quirk singularity doomsday theory'' is a very overlooked plot point in MHA, after listening to some things @kaname_clan cleverly pointed out to me, I now believe it will play a big part in the approaching climax of the story โ.

I think it is not a stretch of the imagination to think that Katsuki could end up having a similar role. For this to happen, Katsuki would need to have the possibility of appearing to Izuku in the form of a vestige of sorts or at least be able to access the OFA/AFO realm โ.

We already know that the possibility of Deku coming face to face with the young Tenko living inside Shigaraki's consciousness in the future, is very high, and I feel like one way this might happen, is if the MHA's future developments mirrored (to some extent) those of AKIRA โ.

In the movie their 'save to win' and 'win to save' philosophies get to merge. Which is represented by them๐ค to share OFA ( in order to BOTH 'win and save' ). These two kids are there to further iconographically describe this 'union' it's evident โ.

Shigaraki can see the vestiges attached to Izuku because theyโre both connected to the same higher realm that exists beyond the quirk singularity. Katsukiโs love has tapped him into OFAโs realm and he can now also perceive the spiritual phenomena of vestiges, hopes and prayer.

Keep in mind that he has mentioned Akira quite a few times. For example, he said he thought all aspiring mangakas had read Berserk and AKIRA because they are SO iconic, and that they always used to have the AKIRA movie playing in the background in the office! Good tastes ๐โจ.
