In sadder news, Dave Ablewhite has been forced to retire through injury. Dave played in every position bar goalkeeper for Stone over the last 4 seasons. He was quality in all of them. Very sad for Dave and the club as he has been a great player and popular teammate. 103 A 34 G.

Today, Ex-Stoke and current Hanley Coach Dave Kevan presented awards for 250 club appearances to Danny Heard and Sam Wilson. He also presented Jack Tomlinson with an award for scoring over 100 goals for Alleynians.

Captain Matt Thomas brought up his 300th game for Stone 2 days before his 27th birthday in the win v Studley yesterday. Matt has scored 89 goals and made many others in that time. The XI yesterday had 1679 Stone appearances between them. Congratulations Matt.
