According to the NBA's matchup data, JDubb, Chet and Shai combined to shoot 9-11 FG when guarded by Jabari Smith.
That stat isn't perfect, but it does feel like his on-ball D hasn't been as impactful recently. Seems like he gives up space, & when he doesn't he gives up a blowby.

Tatum did a decent enough job but this idea of him "locking Shai up" is hilarious, even the baseline jumper Shai misses is one he makes 9/10 times
Shai being more passive is just a testament to him trusting his guys more and being willing to defer (even if it irks me sometimes)
Here are the plays in the 4th between SGA and Tatum. Only 1 missing is Tatum deterring an SGA jumper (not in the NBA box score videos).
