What we've achieved for the actual GP:
1 - cars previously out of position now where expected.
2 - drivers that did a great job in qualifying, now not starting where they deserve to start.
It was a decent race but it has detracted from the main show.
Nothing can be guaranteed to be 100% safe in this world, but what you can do is take the correct course of action once something happens. When we're talking missiles landing within view of a worldwide sporting event, you get the hell out.
So, as we really already knew:
1 - Masi screwed up under massive pressure.
2 - Rules clarified to get rid of even 0.1% of ambiguity used to create the Abu Dhabi finale.
3 - New RD team and systems installed to ensure it won't happen again.
Time to move on.
Sixth attempt across rFactor 2 and iRacing, first Le Mans 24 Hours win. I've loved the real Le Mans for as long as I can remember, to win it virtually...well, it'll be hard to top. To do with great friends in the name of a wonderful man is the icing on the cake.
Also, someone give this guy a seat in something. He's done some extraordinary things in that Praga this year. One of so many hugely talented drivers that really deserves a shot.

@JimmyBroadbent
. Made a lot of people proud🙌👏
I know I give him some shit, but he has worked his nuts off for this and I couldn't be more proud of my friend. I know how crazy things are behind the scenes at times and how hard he works in private. This is more than deserved.
I don't typically enjoy seeing people fail, but Dan Ticktum? I'd make an exception for him. He's lucky to even have a career at this point. What a nasty piece of work he is.
I understand you can't control the weather, I understand they wanted to get a race in. I don't blame them for that. Suspending your own rules covering time limits and completing enough laps to allow that race to count in the world championship is a complete joke.

A real shame to see
@iRacing
lose the
@IndyCar
licence and its ability to host an official Indy 500 because of the exclusive licence with Motorsport Games. Exclusivity like this and the Le Mans licence only serve to hurt the fans. Car companies cottoned on and others need to.
That there is my old mate. What a journey these last few years have been, man. It's been a decade, now. Watching this guy grow over that time has been a pleasure and a privilege. Getting to see this moment in the flesh was the icing on the cake.
I simply can't help but love the legend that is Sebastien Loeb. Some luck today, but the guy is 47, was in Saudi Arabia last week finishing 2nd in the Dakar and has barely driven WRC cars over the last few years. Unreal.
#WRCLive
Because the line is defined as the limit? I feel like that's really very simple. All sports contain an element that is about pushing the boundaries of the rules you're given.
I've been a professional racecar driver for 15 years. I've been watching F1 since 2000.
I am sorry, where did this car exceed "track limits"??
I really, really, really do not understand who can watch this and feel like this makes any sense
Some of you will remember me talking on stream about the condition of my grandmother the other day. Unfortunately, the predictions from the nurses came true and she passed peacefully Monday evening. While we knew it was coming, I'm sure you can all appreciate it's still rough.
Ah yes. Sim Dream Development return to the spotlight with more scummy behaviour.
@SimRacing604
calls them out on YouTube. So, what do they do? Claim copyright against his videos! Shut. Them. Down.
It's sad seeing the attitude of some people in the GT Sport World Tour stream chat. Watching people spew hatred because it's a console game and not a PC sim. What does it matter? This is brilliant for racing games. PC sim racing can only dream of events like this.
This is what happens with race directors and stewards that simply can't apply consistent rules. We are incredibly lucky this season to not have seen worse than we have. There needs to be a major shakeup at the top of the decision-making tree. Fucking shambles.
#SaudiArabianGP
A Discord discussion has led to me digging up pictures of how I used to sim race. 😄 Yes, that is the sequential shifter from the Madcatz Xbox wheel. I hacked it out and it somehow worked.
"Sensational pole". Also 2 seconds slower than last year and against a Toyota that has been kneecapped to the point that it may as well turn up without the hybrid system. I appreciate BOP isn't going away, but this... man. It makes me fear what they'll do next year.
Glickenhaus Racing claimed a memorable pole position for tomorrow’s 2022 TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the second round of this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship.

After I've finally had some decent sleep, I want to look back at a bizarre weekend. Thank you to
@itsSirCoin
@TheHodgemonster
and
@JimmyBroadbent
for their efforts. I know things didn't go to plan, but even getting to the end wouldn't have been possible without you guys.
While not officially announced by staff, iRacing has removed the bit about hoping to schedule an LM24 later this year from the special events forum post. If official, what a damn shame for thousands of people. Hard to say it's iRacing's fault. Eyes firmly set towards the ACO.🙄
@JimmyBroadbent
But Jimmy, everything needs to be the same, but it also needs to be different, but it also needs BoP, but it also needs success ballast, but it also needs reverse grids, but it also needs tyres that fall apart, but it also needs tyres that can take a pounding etc etc etc. 🥱
Whether you like it or not, you don't win 7 championships or win a race like that because it's "all the car". Funny how the best have this habit of finding themselves in the best place to win stuff.

@YouTubeCreators
@TeamYouTube
wake up
This channel needs to be removed. They use your platform to advertise illegal mods while issuing false copyright claims against
@SimRacing604
. The fact they exist while Mike has to battle false claims is ridiculous.
For those not familiar with rF2, here's what I believe happened to Alonso. Given he received his penalty on his in-lap, I suspect he didn't disable serving the penalty before his pit stop. If that is the case, he would have served the penalty rather than a regular fuel stop.
Fucking shambles are the words you're looking for. As if we didn't know it already, but this is what happens when you start forcing race restarts and leaving 2-3 lap dashes to the end.
This was an absolute disgrace. The sad truth is nothing will happen, they'll keep the win and the driver probably won't be sanctioned. This sort of move simply can't be seen to be OK if sim racing is to be taken more seriously outside of our little bubble.
I know a lot has been said about how bad the Ferrari is. The onboard from Leclerc towards the end made it look evil, but this clip? Dear god. Reminds of a Minardi from the late 90s/early 2000s. That thing is truly abysmal.
Giro 9 di 71. Media NUOVA (partenza fuori dai top 10). Ditemi voi se questo comportamento è normale – ho letto che alcuni sostengono che la macchina sia diventata inguidabile dopo il testacoda). E non è un caso isolato. Curva 4-6 è da F14 T vibes

Rant time. Mike's video is a good starting point. People are allowed to like Project Cars 3. They don't have to conform to your desire to have your negativity reinforced. They are allowed to play this game on the THEIR channel. Grow up, shut up and get on with your day.
Given the sad news of
@WilliamsJIM_
driver Martin Solari passing away, we'll be running with the tribute provided by the team on our cars. We may not have known Martin, but we know how sim racing brings people together and how it hurts when they are no longer with us.
I've been calling this the pass of the year, but it's probably up there as one of the very best there has ever been. I certainly puckered watching it live. 😄
I'm getting quite tired of this "must nerf Mercedes" nonsense. Do you really want to turn F1 into yet another BoP series? How many more of those do you want in motorsport? I'm so bored of BoP series that essentially get decided by how much weight or power they are given.
It's fascinating to see so many people having little to no sympathy for Leclerc having a watch stolen. Some almost seem gleeful. It isn't about how much the watch is worth, it's about the act of robbery itself. It's such a personal thing to happen, regardless of who you are.
Utterly bonkers race. Best on-track racing in the top class since 2015, but with so many different cars going 100%. Hypercar has totally and utterly arrived.

It has to include the removal of all paid content that doesn't belong to them, which, to the best of my knowledge, means everything on the site. No ifs or buts. Good that they've reached out, but I will believe it when I see it after behaving this way for so long.
Seriously,
@ForzaMotorsport
,
@iRacing
,
@rFactor2
. Take them down. They steal or have stolen from all of you and the manufacturers that you licence the content from. END THEM.
Just seeing the video is all anyone with a modicum of experience needed to see. Entering fast corners from the inside half of the race track, snappy inputs that should result in some sort of reaction from the car yet... nothing. Just so sad for Jimmy and Team87.
I'm really starting to get onboard with Limmy's "block and move on" approach. Happy to see different and opposing views on a wide range of things, but I don't need those who are so stuck in the mud they can't see anything outside of their narrow window.
Once again an outstanding show put on for
#LeMansVirtual
. Really, really happy to see the event seemingly go off without too many issues. It once again demonstrated the wonderful possibilities of sim racing when it has some backing.
