My man has been playing shortstop and third base his entire life before recently converting to catcher full-time.
After struggling a bit with some extra steps in his footwork to 2nd & 3rd, we created some visual lanes for him to work through. Helped eliminate that extra step

I like these pre-set blocks beginning our progression because it helps emphasize the fact that wherever the glove goes - the body will follow.
Applying this concept to the beginning of your block will make it easier for your body to get into the correct position it needs too

One of my favorite things to tell my guys is to “beat the ball to the spot”
Definition of it right here.
When receiving, great catchers learn how to beat the ball to the spot. When that’s done correctly, you can make a 97 MPH fastball that may be off the plate appear like a sure fire strike by bringing it back on to the plate upon the catch.
