Fortunate to have met Dr. Fong in person for the first time at the @CMAdocs House of Delegates 2024 meeting where he represented @MOASC_Office and @ANCO_News . He was a larger-than-life personality who leaves big shoes to fill in the realm of cancer advocacy. #ascoadvocacy
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our beloved colleague Dr. Warren Fong. Dr. Fong’s contributions over the last 25 years have shaped MOASC in ways that will endure for years to come, and his absence will be deeply felt. He will be remembered not only as a remarkable physician and leader, but also as a mentor, colleague, and friend whose impact will never be forgotten.

It's ridiculous that our most symptomatic #Medicare patients who are diagnosed with cancer in the hospital have to wait the longest for molecular testing due to @CMSGov shenanigans. Let's go @AmerMedicalAssn @ASCO @OhioMedicine @ChrisWeeMD in getting this fixed! 💪 #amamtg
Proud to lend @OhioMedicine support for @ASCO @steveleeyc resolution for @AmerMedicalAssn to advocate for changing @CMSGov 14-day rule so complex testing (e.g. NGS) can be performed as an inpatient and paid separately from inpt bundle. Will help pts get care more quickly!

@bogda_koczwara I did 530am runs in Taipei (thanks to jet lag) and found the same (generally older) exercising ppl - tai chi, park calisthenics - in near darkness. Commitment!

And to link wellness to advocacy - the governor ended up signing #ab2164 the @CMAdocs supported bill to exclude mental health/substance use disorder treatments that don't affect patient care from MD licensure applications.

@PoleDoctress I pose the question of if febendazole (or other substance) is actually better than SOC therapy, why hasn't big pharma played a patent game and monetized it already? I then tell them about thalidomide REMS. Capitalism to the rescue.
