Andy McClusky, OMD, terrific guy. Came to see us play Lytham St Anne’s. I signed Andy’s Cockney Rebel scrapbook. An amazing collection from his teenage years.
Pete Shelley's death is a shocking blow to the generation he inspired so powerfully with his immaculately crafted tight pop rock songs. Another one-of-a-kind has been lost to the must world. Good thoughts go to his family and band mates.
A visit from Paddington. I feel better already! Managed 50 paces down a corridor with a little help from a frame and a Physio. So sorry for shows being postponed. All being rescheduled. SH
Operation a total success. Metal plate and a screw. Bless you all for your kind words and good wishes. Back on the road as soon as I can. Even if I perform sitting down! SH

last night in Stamford. She and her band played a brilliant set. Eddi sings like she invented singing. Amazing qualities in her voice.
Terribly sad to learn of Geoff Emerick's passing. Geoff was one of the true Greats of the music industry. He changed my life with his brilliant engineering on The Human Menagerie. He was great fun, a great talent and a special guy. All good thoughts go to his family.
Steve arrives at Heathrow, February 1975, from New York, with the band’s security man, the late Toni Gibbings. Straight to Top Of The Pops, Make Me Smile at Number One.
Splendid treatment at Scanderborg festival in Denmark. Personalised towels, indeed! We played a 75 minute set to several thousand. In blazing sunshine. Special day. To Belgium Friday for festival on the beach, Saturday. Life could be worse. SH
Summer hangs on In glorious style in Whitby. Just had a chat with the dog-walking Jackie Middleton . Fabulously relaxing here just ahead of sound check.
Richmond Castle. Stayed in this ancient market town yesterday, on the road to Cumbria for tonight’s festival. Travelling alone. I like it that way sometimes.
My signed guitar and VIP tickets raised £2650 for the Ed Sheeren Made In Suffolk children’s charity auction last night.
Well done and thank you the kind buyer.
The auction raised a total of half-a-million pounds.
Terribly sad news that the brilliant John Miles has passed away. John was so much more than just “Music”. A massively talented guitarist and pianist. A natural band leader too. One of the really good guys.
2/2 Some song. Lucky me. And I thank all who have commented kindly on Uncovered. I am exceptionally proud of this work. Is that ok? Pride? I can’t help myself…loving the new musicians, the dates, the highs Live music can bring. SH.
1/2] Stunned to learn of the passing of my dear mate Eric Hall. Forty seven years ago, Eric was the Promotion man at EMI who worked on my records. He changed my life by getting them into the charts. The world has lost a rare character. A man of brilliance and charisma.
Mick Rock, the best, has passed away.
A great friend and a truly brilliant artist.
Took hundreds of photos of me. I took one of him. This one. Mick was a one-off, truly.
What a great canon of work his legacy will prove to be. It’s a sad day for sure.
We would like to thank you all deeply for your touching tributes and messages of condolence in the days since Steve’s death - our beautiful Husband and Dad.
