We estimate that a total of $8.349 billion ($8.968 billion in 2023 US dollars) were spent on APCs between 2019 and 2023. We show that, even when adjusting for inflation, annual spending almost tripled from 2019 to $2.538 billion in 2023. (3/x)

@BMittermaier Danke! Möglich gemacht durch den Kontakt zu Nina Schönfelder durch den Vortrag beim @KBibliometrie. Ich bin übrigens ab September für meinen Sabbatical in Deutschland, ab März wahrscheinlich in Köln. Vielleicht läuft man sich dann ja auch mal wieder über den Weg :)
